Are there any other fans of Hopkins out there who are, like me, just really nervous about this? Adamek is a big, power punching Cruiser and he is a dozen years younger than Bernard. I know Bernard is timeless and what not, but damn, 44 years old? I just worry.
Hopkins vs. Adamek To Take Place on July 11?

Worried? Not really. Hop is a smart guy. If he thinks he could get hurt he wouldnt take the fight. I think he can handle it. This is what he does.....Comment

Hopkins will make light work of him......and win damn near every round.Comment

1. Money
2. He has a double standard, If he wins, he gets top 5 pound for pound, and if he loses, people will just say he is old and STILL rank him in the top 5.Comment

it all depends on the catch weight. cruiserweight is anywhere from 176-200. anyways, this is gonna be huge. i also think this is gonna be like rjjr vs ruiz in the press aspectLast edited by STILL DETOX; 03-14-2009, 10:03 PM.Comment

For one I never said anything about him "wanting" to lose to Hop...... I said IMO he will lose. How you get that mixed up is beyond me.
As far as Lacy. Who was Lacy until he challenged Joe???? NO ONE. He BECAME the guy who was going to beat Joe.
Kessler was the same way. Think about it for a second. He's still a nobody but a MORE popular nobody than before. lol
And what are you even talking about Pavlik? Pavlik was a whole other situation. I didn't even mention Pavlik so I have no idea why one would even bring him into the topic of "NOBODIES". Pavlik was a CLEAR somebody by beating JT twice and then "DESTROYING" Joe Calzaghe's "stable mate". EASILY.....
Again, Lacy, Kessler and Manfredo were guys that made a name from taking on a fight with a undefeated fighter in Joe Calzaghe. That tends to raise your stock.........
As far as Hopkins being hurt in the Calzaghe fight is the biggest joke someone could argue about. That's just hilarious to me. If ANYTHING.... anything at all he was "TIRED" in no way was the "pitty pats" (Peter Manfredo's word choice) hurting him. IF anything at all and like Emanuel Stewart pointed out on SEVERAL occasions, Hop almost took down Joe several MORE times like he did in the very first round. Not the other way around.
FYI: Joe admitted to hitting Hop low...
IF anything Grandpa Hop was dead tired fighting against the guy with the best endurance in the sport. That's all I need to say about that one. One must be a complete moron to think HOP could have been finished by JOE CALZAGHE. The man who hasn't KO'ed anyone in how long? The man that couldn't even KO glass Jawed old man Jones. I mean your talking about Joe Calzahe KO'ing a guy that has never been Ko'ed, let alone have a scratch on his face, let alone bleed from a fight in his entire career..... too too funny.
You must have just started watching Hop..
Like I said I have HOP by UD. Wont be easy, but I say he wins by a UD if it takes place in which Adamek would make a name for losing to Hop in the US. People would know him. Kind of like Hatton. When Mayweather embarrassed him by a BRUTALLY SWEET KO. Everyone in America knows Hatton. Its like hey that's the dude that got KTFO by PBF... Before PBF, Hatton was a nobody in the states, Hatton should be saying thank you Money bling bling Mayweather may I have another. In-which Pac will deliver..... He will "DESTROY" Hatton.
Anyway (back to the actual topic) HOP BY UD! no hate, hope I cleared up some of your questions.
As far as the low blow is concerned. I am not sure when Joe claimed he intentionally hit Hopkins low, and I am not claiming the quotes are false I am just not sure of the source. With that said. The quote was discussing the low blow in the second round and had nothing to do with the phantom low blow in the tenth round. You say he was tired I say he was hurt. Regardless would he have made it through the round if he did not take a dive, who knows? What I do know is that I have seen a many of fighters who had never been stopped get KOed late in their careers. Now, don't get me wrong I am not comparing Hopkins to them but Aaron Pryor, Ray Leonard and Pernell Whitaker come to mind. So, it does happen even to the best of them.
As far as the Adamek fight. I do not believe that Adamek thinks he has to fight Hopkins to prove himself. He is a two division champ and has beat two of the top Cruiserweights while in the process of winning the Ring title. I believe that his win over Cunningham elevated his stock way beyond a lose to Hopkins would ever do. Honestly that scenario makes little sense to me. I simple believe that Adamek is an old school fighter who will fight anyone put in front of him. To me you make it sound as if Adamek sold out and is going to show up knowing he is going to lose. Am I misunderstanding you or do you honestly believe that?Last edited by Ravens Fan; 03-15-2009, 08:06 AM.Comment

Doesn't matter if Bernard gets KTFO. It's not going to take anything away from his legacy except people saying he fought on to long.Comment
