Last Tuesday, I swung by Jack Demseys in Manhattan and one of the ladies that worked there didn't know if they were showing it. She said to call back on Friday, but I didn't. I also swung by the Playwright Bar on 49th St. but signs announced an Irish rugy and/or futbol game starting that morning around 11 am with a $20 cover. I figured after both games it would be hard to find a good spot to watch the fight (if there even showing it, I'm not sure) in there anyways, so I've decided to buy the PPV, get some San Miguel from Trader Joe's, a late Mexican lunch and stay home. Although if Barrera wins, my drunk ass might go crazy and hit a strip club tonight... something I shouldn't do because I don't want to waste money. But please, Barrera win!
You definitely spend less money watching it and drinking at home.
Going to bars and paying cover always seems like a good idea until you have a few beers and realize how much you are really spending
    Been there done that.
    You're being more economical.

Yeah, sometimes I like the energy of being in a crowd, but then you can't always hear the play-by-play, and even if the commentary sucks, I still like hearing what's going on for certain things (cuts caused by headbutts or punches, etc.).

And you're right, with the cover charge, the subway ride/taxi to and from and the beers consumed you're easily paying a lot more than staying at home

$25 ain't that bad and I haven't bought a PPV since Cotto vs. Margarito and probably won't buy another one until Pac vs. Hatton.
