The Lost 80's Heavyweights.. Pick 1 or 2 that could hang with 2day's Heavyweights..

Reading an old Tyson book got me thinking about the forgotten Heavyweights of the 80's...

If you had to choose one to go up against the Current heavyweights
    who would your choice be?

    Now onto the Fighters themselves..
    Quick mention

    Fighters like

    James "Bonecrusher" Smith
    Tony Tubbs
    Plinkon Thomas
    Tyrell Briggs
    Mike weaver
    Greg Page
    Tim Witherspoon
    John Tate
    Gerry Coetzee
    Tony Tucker
    Razor Ruddock

Any im missing out just add them in
    your getting the idea though...

If half of them were managed right at the time and more disciplined they would of achieved a whole lot more.Specially Witherspoon
he was a dangerous ***er he was...

He would be one of my picks..

As bad as they ******, they were still better than today's heavyweights. F'in Trevor Berbick could probably beat Wlad, prime for prime.

Tim Witherspoon and Tony Tucker would probebly have a lot of success in todays division.

I can seen Pinkln Thomas and Ruddock having good success too.

witherspoon for sure could destroy wladimir & beat vitali.he went 15 hard rounds several times, had the big right & good jab.bonecrusher smith reminds me of David izon 1 dimensional but could pull the upset with one big right.tucker I found was too conservative as a fighter he nickel & domed wins out.some could do good but I think tim witherspoon would beat 90% of todays heavyweights.in his best years of course.he was always able to fight 12-15 hard rounds even when he wasn't in peak shape.now days toney & Rahman, tua are the only guys who can have their weight fluctuate & still be a threat.Rahman & tua not as much anymore.tua can't get his punches off & Rahman I like but I think he just doesn't have that fire in his belly anymore.he could fight at 230-260 in his best days.
