that = cutting the ring off, imo.

find the distance, wait for an opening, crack the guy and hurt him without wasting energy against an opponent who is using a lot of lateral movement=effective cutting off of the ring.

you dont necessarily need to fight your way to the inside to effectively cut off the ring.
