ORTIZ may be a little OVERRATED IMO...

He has exceptional talent but... he lacks in lot of areas as well.

Everytime time i see him, no matter who i see him fighting, he seems to really struggle with cutting the ring off. He really chases his opponents around the ring.

And Ortiz may hit very hard and very accurately, but he has never fought a guy that could really bring it offensively.

Clearly he has exceptional potentional and talent in a lot of categories, but i think people are getting on the boat a little early. I hope i am wrong though, cause we need a young personable fighter for boxing

It is his wide range of punches that impresses me. He can hurt you with so much from so many different directions. I rate this kid very very highly. Future world champ and p4per IMO.

it took him two rounds to cut off the ring and knock out a durable, elusive opponent in his last fight...

but no, we havent seen him in there with someone who can fight back real effectively yet. well have to see how he deals with pressure, how his chin and stmina is, etc when he fights a more offensive fighter.

I like his bending-at-the-knee punch that he always seems to do at random. It kinda lunges from a crouch.

I'm sure he'll be a 140 kingpin in some years from now - he's very well grounded and focused for the task.

          Ortiz is coming along nicely…

The flashes of his potential is the reason why many, including myself, might overrate him…if brought along and developed properly, we could be watching the next major force at 140-147…the kid has pop, explosion and a killer instinct that many are interested in seeing

People either forget or don't really know how good of a fighter Arnaoutis actually is.

Ortiz impressed the hell out of me.

Carloss Maussa really brung it to ur favorite fighter Hatton for how many rounds, and Ortiz knocked him out in a round,Mike bought it to Torres and lost a SD which many thought he won,he even dropped Torres,Ortiz knocked him out in two,so yeh,hes a sick talent, and im really REALLY impressive with Ortiz, and he does cut the ring off,he dont just stalk,he works angles

but he didnt cut the ring off. He was chasing Arnaoutis around before he caught him with a perfect counter over a lazy jab.

No he wasnt,Kball did u even watch the fight bro? LOL Ortiz was patiant as a mofo in that 1st round! he was just slowly flicking the jab, using angles and movement, trying 2 get the distance and work out his opponent, the 2nd round he put more pressure on and landed nearly all of his jabs, then he caught him with his first big shot, then u no what happened

if lacking the skill of cutting off the ring, which a lot of VETERAN STARS still have trouble doing, is his biggest flaw, I really dont see how he is overrated.

He may be overrated because he's a really young prospect, but he's faced GOOD opposition. Arnoutis, Mauzza, all top grade opponents. Mauzze gave Hatton hell not to long ago. Arnoutis was a top class JR WW. These guys didnt go past the 3rd round.

I think some of this attention is warranted in my opinion.
