lets not forget that Pavlik fought Miranda when many didnt want to, also fought taylor 2 times, and Hopkins, even tho Hopkins cleaned house with him,Kelly faced who he had to, now he has to face these bums, dont count him out, not everyone Hopkins faced was top A fighter, Hopkins fought Allen what like 3-4 times, Same as Taylor, he has faced some real good fighters

That's correct. That's why it's ok for him to have a freebie in Lockett. It's bad when he takes another with Whobio. It's worse when he takes yet another in Mora and it's APPAULING if he then takes on Duddy.

It sounds like Pavlik should move up to smw if he can't get the AA fight, because the talent pool is so much deeper and there are much bigger names.

These 2 need each other, they're a perfect match for the most meaningful, compelling, attractive fight at middleweight right now...and Abraham needs to move up soon, sounds like it's only gonna get harder for him to make 160.


Does Pavlik need more preparation for Abraham? Can anyone make an argument for Mora and Duddy readying him further for AA?

I'd love to see this one, admittedly, because I want to see AA get what he deserves at 160 before moving up. I think he'd hand Pavlik his ass. Smarter, tougher, more skilled.

It is not that simple. Abraham wants to get paid to fight Pavlik I am sure, it is the biggest fight in the middleweight division. Abraham does bring money from Germany but he is kind of unknown in the US.

I don't really like Sergio and want to see him KO'd, so I gotta be honest I don't mind this fight coming off.

I agree with the general sentiment of this thread though, Kelly needs to fight better guys. The problem is 160 is just absolutely disgusting at the moment to the point where there is only one guy that presents an attractive matchup.

It is possible but it is not a sure thing at all. I am sure HBO would want the fight but how much are they going to pay for the fight (I do not think it can do great on PPV, it could get to like 300-350k which is not bad but would have to be promoted very well). As it sits now I do not think the pie is big enough to make the fight take place, but if they work toward making that fight it could be huge.

It will take some time though, I hope they get serious about it sometime soon.
