Foreman was much better than Lewis or Roy Jones. I'm on the fence on whether I prefer him over Kellerman, tho.

At least Kellerman calls out all the Bull **** that fighters and sanctioning bodies say/do.

I rewatched Barrera vs Hamed this morning and damn George Foreman is so annoying. Barrera completely exposed Hamed and showed that his style doesn't work again elite level competition. Yet George Foreman is rambling on about how Naz only looks off balance because of his upper body movement and that Barrera didn't come forward because he respected the punching power of Hamed. Even when Barrera was handing out a beating, Foreman was bleating on how all it takes is a clean left from Naz and its lights out. Since when has Barrera ever been sparked?

Another irritating fight (commentary wise) was Hopkins vs Trinidad. Foreman was nuthugging Trinidad all the way through that as well. Even as late as the 9th/10th round when Hopkins was clearly dominating, Foreman came out with some comment to the effect of : "all this backing up that Hopkins is doing saps his strength...and you need all of your strength against a puncher like Trinidad". Never mind that Hopkins didn't actually look weary, or the fact that Trinidad started to look weaker as the fight wore on, or that Trinidad couldn't land his big punches on Hopkins...he had every chance to win in Foreman's book.

GRRRRRR!!! Now that rant is off my chest...any thoughts?
I honestly think Naz could have sparked anyone at that weight in fairness to George.

Foreman was fairly juvenile at times.

I thought Lewis was pretty good.

Every third word is "Definitely!" and he doesn't really bring much original insight to the commentary. He gets on my nerves, LOL.

He adds almost nothing to the broadcast, other than stating the obvious.

He had his moments. Overall I'd say he was fairly bad, even Foreman himself said that he was embarrassed at some of the things he said during his time as a commentator, but his commentating didn't irritate me as much as it does some others.

I thought Foreman was a decent commentator in the late 70's. He gave his opinion but didn't go overboard with it.

I also respect him for acting as the peacemaker during the post-fight brawls in Golota-Bowe I and Boudreaux-LeDoux.

I watched Hopkins-Trinidad again the other day, I love the fight, but god damn George drives me nuts in that fight...

"Oooo Hopkins gotta be careful", "He's slowing down now, he's caught on the ropes"...while Hopkins was battering Tito!

I noticed the same when I re-watched that fight a few months ago. I was like damn, just shut up George. He did seem to always have a bias for the puncher and seemed to root against the slick boxer.

My favourite part of Hopkins-Tito was when Foreman said something about Trinidad showing the heart of a true champion or something and Merchant replies

                      "But they're BOTH Champions!"
