shane mosley vs pernell whitaker @ 135...

both were great champs @ 135... mosley's speed and power vs whitaker's defense and lateral movement... sweet pea vs sugar? who is sweeter?

I think Whitaker's defense would be too good, his jab would give Mosley a lot of problems and he would have been able to hold his own on the inside. Whitaker by clear decision but Mosley would have been competitive and could have scored a flash knockdown early.

Mosley has always struggled with fighters that have good jabs ... and Whitaker had one of the best jabs I've seen. Whitakr by UD I think.

SSM is just a speedy brawler who doesn't adpat and has a 4 inch jab. By most he is considered a beast at 135 but he ain't beat no one there, Whitaker would beat him in and out. Whitaker U.D

im not really well versed with whitaker's early career (when he was still @ lightweight) but has he face a fighter with mosley' handspeed? i mean he did well against fighters like ramirez and chavez... but they were not as fast as sugar shane... dont u think mosley's speed somehow nullifies whitaker's lateral movement and superb timing? i mean aside from mosley's speed, pernell has got to deal with sugar's power as well... he KOed steel chinned margarito for crying out loud...

A guy that had basically 0 defense and comes right at you..big difference when you are fighting Whitaker. Mosley has always had problems against guys who box him.

Its no good having the tools, if you dont have the adaptability to put them things on your opponent. Whitaker would beat Mosley decisively.

                  Whitaker by UD.

As good as Mosley was at Lightweight, I think he plays right into Sweetpea's style and gets out boxed for the majority of the fight, enough for Pernell to win the majority of the rounds, probably 117 to 111.
