Roy won the first round, 10-8. The rest was all scored to JC, but a portion of the second round could be scored for Roy. At the very least it was 10 rounds to 2 for Calzaghe.

Why are we having this conversation? LOL...

Oh yeah, somebody took a Daggum quote seriously.

Nobody -- and I mean nobody on the entire planet -- can score the fight to Roy or even give him more than 2 rounds. It was a straight-up embarrassment for him and should have been stopped somewhere around the 9th after he'd bled for the last couple.

I scored the first two for him then the rest for Joe, but I believe the 5th was very close? I remember thinking that could have gone to Roy, so giving him 3 isn't that ridiculous.

sure it was a calzaghe win obviously but jones landed more clean punches that i originally thought. the way people describe the fight, they make it sound like a gatti and mayweather type fight but it wasn't. jones landed his share of good punches.

i had jones ahead 57-56 after 6 rounds...and i gave him one of the later rounds....i'm sorry in some of the early rounds, i gave to jones because i thought he landed the cleaner, better shots. i just find it very hard to give credit to calzaghe for alot of that bull**** he does. (slapping gloves and forearms)...the fight wasn't a beating..more jones laying on the ropes..taking a million of calzaghe's crappy ass slappy flurries on his arms and getting outworked. altho he did get cut in either the 7th or the 8th.

but thats just my opinion. i had it 8-4 calzaghe plus the knockdown...but thats probably the best you could have it for jones...4 rounds at most.

to be honest, i think calzaghe's excessive taunting of jones made it look worse than it really was it times...aside from the punch that cut jones in round 7 ot 8 i think, calzaghe just really did not hand out that big of a phyical beating to jones. he threw alot of punches, but i just think alot of that **** landed on gloves and forearms.

i thought tarver and glen johnson's performances were more dominant and impressive than calzaghe's by far.

the fight however told me that jones in his prime, would have knock calzaghe the **** out in early in the fight.
Now that u mention this i remember watching the fight a second time and thinking the same. Jones did pretty well from 1-7 then from 8-12 it was game over for roy mainly because of the cut..i remember actually feeling a little depressed during the fight(no lie)..that first knockdown got my heart pumping hard enuff to just sit there and watch the whole fight to see if roy can pull another knockdown but it never happened..

It would be insanity to score it for jones... Having more then 3 rounds for him would be insanity... I think I had two rounds for Roy

Yeah the second half was horrible. I watched it with my brother and we pretty much just sat there in complete silence.

It was a great uppercut, but ultimately it had no effect, if I remember corectly? It's hard to say this sole punch was enough to score the round to Roy. What's odd is that some of the guys here who are being generous to Roy (and that's cool, no complaints from me) by saying he was competitive from rounds 1-7 but it was all Joe from 8-12, well apparently Joe injured his hand in Round 7 (the punch that caused the cut), so I guess that's suggests he was actually not hitting as hard in the last 4 rounds.

It's funny how we all score fights!

but then again, if you watch the round, youd actually see that it wasn't the only punch roy landed and both men had their moments. it was a close round from what i remember that you could've given roy.

excuse my 8-4 card..thats acutally 9-3...i think i remembered calzaghe coasting the last round and that was pretty competitive as well after rounds 7-11 were calzaghe outworking jones...
