I had to stop reading when you said Ruelas. That fight was the one that showed de la hoya had real heart and that he wasnt just all show. This is some boxrec research right here. Alot of yall werent following the sport then, but that ruelas fight is on par with the vargas fight, it was the fight that showed that de la hoya was a real fighter and wouldnt back down just because hes cornered emotionally and physically.

i attribute alot of it to these people not really knowing oscars career. If you have been watching boxing only the last few years, its easy to think that. Guys like PBF/Oscar/Mosley/Forrest/Vargas/Trinidad etc had their big runs in the mid to late 90's. In mosley/floyds case it was in the early part of the 00's.

Simply put alot of these guys are looking at and glancing at boxrec. Quartey, Ruelas, Vargas, Mayorga, Trinidad etc were NOT washed up when he took them on.

this is bull****, the only fighters he didint fight from his era were forrest and wright, i mean those are the ONLY fighters he didint face, other than tszyu, but the tszyu thing wasnt really his fault, i forgot how that went down. Either way, you clearly dont know what you are talking about.
