I do agree that Pavlik should fight A.A. or Sturm but that doesn't make Mora a bum. He has accomplished more than most of us writing crap here.
I feel what most of you said, but Mora is a BUM....
If you work hard and strive to be a good boxer, then you take every chance you can to fight in a championship fight.....Mora has turned down at least 2 title fights, not because he wasnt trained or injured, but due to the fact that the fights were too close to the champions hometown....i call that P.U.S.S.Y.
Yeah he looked decent in his most notable win over Forrest(who had been in training for almost 4+ months because his previous fight fell thru and was overtrained), but then in the rematch got totally outclassed and looked like an amatuer. Mora DOES NOT deserve this fight, isnt even ranked in the top 10 of middleweights and is absolutely no threat to Pavlik.......Part of me is disgusted with this situation but not all the blame can be layed upon Mora....We also have to look at Arum/Top Rank and Pavlik/His team for making and accepting this fight. I understand Pavlik taking a gimme fight last month but now another??? Either Pavlik is scared to step up competition or his handlers are afraid he's gonna be damaged goods after fighting a top-10 contender....Look at the top 10 in the middleweight rankings....

    CHAMP: Kelly Pavlik
    1. Arthur Abraham
    2. Felix Sturm
    3. Sebastian Sylvester
    4. Khoren Gevor
    5. Randy Griffin
    6. David Lopez
    7. Javier Castillejo
    8. Amin Asikainen
    9. Daniel Geale
    10. John Duddy Country

I mean of all people they couldve chose from, they choose Mora??

But like most people say none of them are really known in the US. I think Pav's team is buying time while looking good doing it. But that's just me and what I think.

Don't get me wrong, the fights ****** and im not defending it. Like I said if Pav does anything less than a early KO it'll look bad. I think an AA or Kessler fight is right around the corner. I just think greed is in the way and they're waiting for it to be more of a demand.

Its all about the money and that's what they want. None of those names above will bring it to Pav. Then again Mora wont either but that brings me back to the waiting for the right time. But what do I know....

Mind you, didn't Mosley recently turn down a fight with Cotto at the Garden for that reason?

And Taylor refused to fight Froch unless it was in the US, even though Froch has the belt.

I feel you but he had every right too because he already went over there and had a disputable loss to Cotto, now that Mosely is the man at WW, he can call the shots.....Mora, not so much

As for Taylor, i cant argue with that. you got me bro

If he fights Mora and then Duddy, though, that would be very bad for boxing. Not because they're tomato cans, but because the division is crying out for big unification fights, and he's the lineal champion and should be trying to make those fights happen.

And although I blame Arum more than Pavlik, the fact that Pavlik has never to my knowledge expressed any interest in fighting Abraham or Sturm, still less called either of them out, looks very bad to me.
Immediately following his first fight with Taylor, the commentator asked Pavlik, "So, what's next for Kelly Pavlik, the new Middleweight Champion of the world?" To which he answered, "Well, I imagine Jermain will want a rematch, but I'd love to fight some of the other guys. I'd love to fight Abraham..."

He stated it when he first came on the scene as a somebody.

lol Some people just forget that. They need the comfort of it being said over and over. Like I have mentioned I think Pav (more so his team) our waiting for AA and Kessler to make a big money "NAME" in the US for themselves. I think it'll happen. The demand just needs to be bigger, not just a few die hard AA, Kessler and Pav fans....

Thanks for that information, I didn't know that - but he'd get a lot more respect if he'd restate that now, as everyone thinks he doesn't want risky fights any more since his loss to Hopkins, and he needs to make it clear that he still wants those fights, IMO.

Most of you guys make a big mistake! You blame the fighters for weak opponents, but its the promoters who should be blamed. They chose the opponents for their fighters! Im shure Pavlik would fight the best opponents if he could but if his Manager is not allowing it or not be able to make it happen for some reason it wont happen! Its a ****in shame that Pavlik wont fight Abraham, but im not blaming Pavlik but his promoter.
