Shot maybe too strong...but its safe to say he was past it.

I didn't mean as care as in you shouldnt take that into account when looking at his career, I don't really mind the slapping. I'm pretty sure that he wouldn't slap if he wasn't afraid that he'd break his hands, it's a fact you can't be as effective slapping as you can using normal punching.

I mean on the pads he doesn't look like he's slapping and what he goes to the body.

Yeah that you could say. Kosta would have beaten ANYONE at 140 (At the time) even that version of Kosta was capable of beating Hatton, just that Hatton was on that night, Hatton didn't give kosta any room to punch

When I had B-Hop winning the round, Calzaghe would start slapping to steal the rounds. To me, the problem is, should we count those so called punches?

Honestly, even though it was asthetically displeasing did any of Hopkins other opponents like Pavlik, Tito, Wright, Johnson even Taylor do better with technically correct punching?

I think even though it looked ugly Calzaghe had to do something unorthadox because Hopkins knows how to defend against almost anything orthadox. He was smothering Hopkins and making B-Hop look terrible aswell, just think about it. If Joe was fighting orthadox so throwing the right jab, left straight and doubling the left hook like he did against Kessler, Lacy. B-hop would be able to defend against that and counter him easily.

Because Joe was slapping and Hopkins has a sense of pride around him, he doesn't like being touched up no matter how light the punch Hopkins felt like he had to defend from all those shots and some light ones and even the occasional "hard" (in Calzaghe terms) slipped through

I really hate that style of so called punching. It shouldn't be counted in my opinion, Collazo was tryin to do the same **** against Berto. The line has be drawn somewhere

Its not hard to remain undefeated for 11 years when you fight NO ONE.

His style of fighting adds insult to injury its digusting to watch...I only like ONE of his fights and that was aginst Manfredo Jr...altho Manfredo is a bum thats the ONLY time Joe ever looked like a real boxer.
What are you toking on these days? The Manfredo fight was shocking. It was obvious his hands were fucked, just like in the Hopkins fight. You take one of his worst performances and say you like it? Holy ****!

calzaghe is an amatuer boxer, fact, when he was in his prime, he was the dirtiest fighter ever, only in england/wales would they let you hold someones head down through out the whole fight, now(that he has brittle hands from bad punching form) all he does is touch you more than you touch him while blinding you with flurries

im being serious, and im no hater of any fighter
