I agree with you, Hatton is a bit of a ****.

He has the biggest ego in boxing as well. To be fair in-the-ring it's his best attribute because if he didn't have such belief Kostya Tszyu would have punched his head clean off his contrived-as-**** shoulders.

Ricky Hatton is painful. I think Junior Witter isn't the greatest fighter in the world but when Ricky turned around and said 'I don't want to give him a payday. I felt so bad for him. He's a pro that has legitimately earned a shot at Hatton and all that that brings, but Ricky doesn't like him. That is an egotistical **** of the highest order right there. No class.

Not only that with Witter. He was extremely hypocritical saying he won't fight Witter because Witter just slagged him off. Mayweather laughed at Hatton for years and Malignaggi slagged him off nonstop. Ricky also automatically thinks he is the man at 14 despite not defending a proper title once or squaring off against other champions in a unification since that ridiculous Maussa held a title 4 years ago.

Did you read the 1st post. Hatton is a man of the people incase you hadn't heard, he doesn't care about the money, he is only in it to become P4P#1. Hatton has "no airs and graces" and "enjoys the simple life" incase you hadn't realised :rollseyes:.

The OP seems a bit of a stan who got his feelings hurt because his hero snubbed him.

The Brits who are agreeing with him are from London for the most part and sound jealous.

BUT...

all that aside, its clear that Hatton loves money (who doesn't?) and it pisses me off somewhat to hear him talk about fighting De La Hoya just for the cash.

Overall though, he's a great credit to the sport and to Britain.

Nah i'm not just discovering it now , just kind of sad how he has changed but is that deluded he can still keep up this man of the people facade.

He wants you to pay $100 to have your name printed in a programme, man of the people or what? .

Does anyone else think his man of the people spiel doesn't wash anymore?. These days it is brand Hatton and how much he can line his pockets with.

This isn't just a one off though apparently he did this for the Mayweather fight too and i remember before the Lazcano fight he wanted to charge people £200 to have their names printed on his shorts, which got laughed off his own forum for being such a shameful money making scam.

Now the supposed man of the people has his own clothing line . He keeps ****ing on about how much of a man of the people he is (literally every interview) when he hangs around with all sorts of celebrities and bleeds his fans dry.

Another one of his money making scams was for the Mayweather fight, Both him and Floyd got allocated 4000 tickets, Floyd passed these on at the standard price and Punch Promotions through sheer greed added on a 10% mark up on the tickets for the UK fans, some man of the people.

Yet another one, he charged fans £100 for the afterfight party in Manchester after the Lazcano fight. For this £100 you got to stand in a tent in a carpark while Hatton was in a seperate building and never even visited the official afterparty.

How many "men of the people" do you know that talk in the 3rd person?. Ricky 'Atton is just a man of the people ripping of his fans constantly init?. How deluded is he and how far has he drifted from reality that he is actually convinced he will be pound for pound number 1 if he beats Pacquiao. How many "men of the people" do you know that actually think of themselves as the most exciting fighter on the planet when he fights like **** and hugs and holds?.

You only have to read his autobiography (2005) to see just how big of a hypocrite he has become).

As a former Hatton fan, i hope Pacquaio smashed him to pieces .

part of boxing is marketing. however as a professional athlete he does have a responsibility to his fan base. not to say that his fans have to intrude upon his entire life (ie paparazzi). but no fan base no money. so show some love to the ppl that love u. Hatton!
