closest rivalry ever in boxing. its amazing how they can go 36 rounds in spread out fights, and yet end up winning pretty much the same exact amount of rounds against one another.
but what a great, great fight. maybe this is an unpopular comment, but I think either one of them that night would have eaten up any version of JMM.

...and anyone who says that either fighter was the 'HBO favorite' is being ******ed. thats what both Morales and Barrera said in both of their questionable losses too, and obviously it was unfounded since it happened to both of them.

It funny both fighter calimed they where HBO fighter and have similar veiws when fighting each other.

I think it was a close fight and could have gone either way in the first fight the second was clear Morales the 3rd Barrera broke Morales heart it looked like he wasnt into boxing anymore

As far as the fight goes..I am not sayin that Morales won very clearly..but it was clear enough for me that Erik had this one. it was quite obvious that Barrera put up flurries at the end of the round while losing in exchanges and gettin out punched and landed through the round. Maybe thats why morales said what he said after the fight..Barrera knows he got out punched and want a rematch..Look what happened in the rematch...Morales beat barrera EVEN MORE CONVINCINGLY than the first..

Personally i had Morales winning the the trilogy..Watch the fight in mute guys...trust me.

I watched it in mute and with volume, there seemed to be more excitement whenever Barrera did something. It was all exciting sounding when Barrera comes out with two left hooks, then Morales comes back with a right(more monotone). I just thought that there was some serious love given to Barrera, his name was said so many more times it was ridiculous.

You didn't see the 10th and 11th in favor of Morales? He threw more and landed more. Barrera was also buzzed by nearly every right, far more often then Morales in both those rounds.

Dude I watched Morales land a couple punches and they said Barrera instead of Morales landed them, without ever correcting the statement. I am not saying it was like that in the second fight, but in the first there seem to be a mention of Barrera's name several more times. I seen a fight where they said and Morales came back, while never mentioning Morales was fighting between flurries and Barrera winning exchanges here and there.

I agree with you, the HBO commentators were biased in favor of Barrera. Somehow, biased commentating does make a difference on your view of a fight, for that reason, I usually re-watch a fight when I believe the commentators were rooting for a particular fighter. I believe the first fight was a legit draw. They both had their moments and it was extremely competitive. The second and third fight were so easy to score that even the official judges got it right.

That's how all Boxing experts that aren't biased Morales fans have it.
