I'm sorry, but that is absolutely laughable. I don't even know where to start. Povetkin, who has 16 fights and who's notable wins are against a washed up Chris Byrd, an inactive gatekeeper, Larry Donald and Eddie Chambers, who himself has done very little?

Samuel Peter? A guy who's only good wins have been against a fat James Toney? The fellow is the most overrated heavyweight ever, and his last fight was an embarrassment. You really think he could outbox Gomez?

Maskaev? Apart from being shot, what did he ever do anyway? He was fairly talented with good power, but what did he do? He was knocked out when he stepped up in class, with the exception of the Rahman fights. Oh, and by the way, David Defiagbon, who took him 10 rounds, was finished in 3 rounds against Gomez.

Valuev I'd like to see against Gomez, because it would be an utter embarrassment for Valuev. These guys would not beat Gomez. It's silly even trying to make them legitimate. Most of them are jokes. Right now the Klitschkos and possibly Chagaev are the only ones in front of Gomez on merit IMO. But even that's not saying much. Chambers is pretty fast and is fairly talented, as is Povetkin, but they're not that good from what I've seen. The Dimitrenko guy might be one for the future, I don't know. But right now, Maskaev, Ruiz, Valuev, Peter, Chambers, Povetkin, Chagaev, Tony Thompson and the rest of murderers' row would be beaten by Gomez and even a lot of non Gomez fans would back him in those fights. The division is a joke, man.
I agree that its a joke and I was by no means saying that all those old lame ass guys can beat Gomez today. I was saying they have better opposition. we don't know who Gomez would beat on that list because he hasn't fought anyone. I named 5 HW's that Gomez should not be ranked higher than for sure. As far as Povetkin, the Chambers win is better than any of Gomez's. Byrd was old? How about McCall? Sam Peter Ko'd Yanqui Diaz also and beat Maskaev. He has better wins than Gomez.

What I am happy about is that we will find out very soon.

I would love to hear your opinion qabout what type of champion Gomez would be if he won the belt. do you feel that he would try and prove himself to be the best HW out there or would he go the highest reward/lowest risk route?

That's only your opinion. I'd back McCall to cause a few upsets even to this day. Byrd relied on his reflexes and got worse as he got older. McCall obviously isn't that type of boxer. And yes, we will indeed find out soon.

I think if Gomez wins there's only one fight equally as tough - and that's the other Klitschko, of course. So it's mostly downhill anyway. I'd like to think he'd be a good champion. He's not young, so maybe he'd make a push for a few big fights before he gets too old.

People have to remember that there's a reason Gomez hasn't got many big names on his resume: people haven't wanted to fight him. Why would they? He has always been considered high risk, low reward. That's hardly his fault.

Also that he won't leave Europe and I don't buy that he's that avoided, We can agree to disagree on that and the merits of his competition at HW. We can agree that we are both excited to see the fight and we will find out. My prediction by the way is the Vitali catches up with him by the 9th and takes him out in an awkward, competitive fight.

If Gomez won, do you think they would have been okay with a Klitschko hater bumping it?

                  I hardly see a difference.

When Gomez lost, there were actually many Klitschko HATE THREADS appear in NSB.

The more they win, the more hate they receive.

Maybe the fan bumped this thread to counter some of those threads. Fair?
