Gomez Says "I Will Destroy Vitali Klitschko's Legend"

11 days before facing WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko in Stuttgart (Germand) “The Black Panther” Juan Carlos Gomez is very confident regarding his chances for the fight. “I have never been this well prepared and this fired up for a fight”, states Gomez. “Vitali will be surprised to see what I am capable of. He thinks he can beat me up? I say it will be the other way around. I will destroy the legend of Vitali Klitschko.” [details]

It's good Gomez is shooting off his mouth like that, because it will help motivate Vitali to be at his best.

I've been a little concerned Vitali may not be 100% motivated for this fight, so it may be better if Gomez makes him angry and so brings out the best in him.

Gomez is a very good fighter. Vitali is better, but he'll need to be fully focused in order to decisively defeat him.

I'm looking forward to this fight a lot more than the Peter one. In the build-up to it, I could sense how bloody scared and frustrated Peter was, whereas here I can see a real hunger and 'all-or-nothing' desire from Gomez. Hopefully he delivers and puts up a good fight against the VitMan.

But he'll still probably get UD'ed. I don't mind either way.

If he's telling the truth about his preparation then I'm very pleased. Obviously the game plan will involve a high punch output, so he'll need to be in top condition. Gomez just said probably the most significant thing he's said thus far about him being a natural boxer. I think that's something some people are overlooking. When you have all of that experience you know how to win fights. Someone like Gomez may have just gone stale through the years partly because there was no real motivation there. He certainly has that now, and I'm sure Klitschko will bring out the best in him.
