Lots of divisional champions have moved up in weight and got an immediate title fight. Bob Foster vs. Joe Frazier, Michael Spinks vs. Larry Homes, Manny Pacquiao vs. Ricky Hatton, are just three examples. Wlad-Haye is the only heavyweight fight that most neutrals are interested in seeing, more because of his style, and the fact that he was undisputed Cruiserweight champion than because of his mouth; so anyone who doesn't want it to happen is not interested in the health of the sport and is not a true boxing fan.

According to The Ring, Wlad won't be fighting Arreola either:
It’s not clear who Wladimir Klitschko will face in his next fight. Only one thing is certain: It won’t be Chris Arreola.

Negotiations between Klitschko and David Haye seem to be stalled, which means the IBF/WBO heavyweight titleholder could go another direction for his June 20 fight date. The rumor is that Arreola tops the list but his promoter, Dan Goossen, said it’s not going to happen.

Instead, Arreola will face Jameel McCline on April 11. A new conference to formally announce that fight was canceled last week, which played into the rumors that Arreola would face Klitschko.

“No,” Goossen responded when asked whether Arreola would be the man. “We’re going to reschedule the news conference for this Monday or Tuesday.”

So where does that leave Klitschko?

The two most likely opponents are Alexander Povetkin, the IBF’s mandatory challenger, and Alexander Dimitrenko, the WBO’s No. 1 contender.

No heavyweight fight would be bigger than Klitschko-Haye because of the titleholder’s name and Haye’s personality. Klitschko-Arreola would be intriguing because of Arreola’s wild style and the fact he’s American. The Povetkin and Dimitrenko fights would be of major interest primarily in Germany and Eastern Europe.

      This is pathetic.

Also. many fight negotiations break down when both fighters want the fight. It's well known that part of the reason Williams has had so much trouble getting fights is because Arum can't stand Goossen, for example. The negotiators have at least as much to do with it as the fighters, in many cases more so.

look AHOLE....Like you, I don't presume anything, the article clearly states that Haye's people were deferring to Schaefer to negotiate a deal....You have not provided a LINK of any kind at all........This back and forth with you is purely a watse of time, but I definitely wanted to answer your silly reply to my post.....and again i like to end by calling you what you are and that is

You claimed that Haye blew the opportunity. You have no idea who blew it or why the negotiations broke down any more than I do, so you are presuming something - or if you do know, then provide a link to back it up. I don't pretend to know, so asking me to provide a link to back up my statement that I don't know is ridiculous. And resorting to abuse is just childish.

Boxings should delete the heavyweight division.

Arreola is no match for Klitschko and will be KTFO. Complete mismatch.

Hell Klitsckos sparring partners would KO that fat ass.

Well, although they lack name value they certainly would be good opponents.

I agree, but excitement-wise they won't create the interest in the division that either Haye or Arreola would have.
