I think the way to beat Kirkland is to frusterate him and never really engage. After a couple rounds of hitting only air, he will get more aggressive but his technique will deteriorate which mean he will get countered even more.
Going in there not caring what the crowd thinks just doing what would be very effective is a solid plan but going in there with any kind of bravery thinking about taking Kirkland out is ntr a mistake Floyd would make, he would be content to win by decision and would make Kirkland look pretty bad.
