Hopkins beats the '86/'87 hagler but would lose to a prime hagler.

Halger lost a couple of steps in 86, but he was still great. Hopkins was i believe 35 in 2000 and had a lot left and is in his boxing prime.

            I take Hopkins by decision.

I think a 2000 hopkins vs. 1882 Hagler would be a better match up. Both in their primes.

Hopkins wins. Hagler was a formidable fighter, but TRUE ring smarts beats toughness all day long. Hagler was also a good boxer, but not a great boxer.
How is he going to beat Nard? by Ko? i seriously dont that. For a start Hopkins is the bigger man, slick defensively and he is quicker than Hagler was. Hopkins gets into a brawl he loses, but that wont happen, because Hopkins is one of the most patient fighters of AT.

Hopkins sticks to the game plan no matter how boring the fight is.

Leonard,Duran gave Hagler a head ache The bigger physically strong Hopkins who can take a shot, and has good stamina and ring intelligence beats him imo. Thats without mentioning how adept Hopkins is at fighting lefty's.

He has a great chance to beat a prime hagler too. Hagler goes straight. Bernard knows how to fight straight ahead fighters like trinidad and pavlik. Except Hagler is a beast, and even if he hits arms, im sure that would hurt like a *****.Hagler would keep coming and coming and he packs a bigger punch the anybody that Hopkins fought. So i could see this going either way.
