And that isn't me talking ****, it is really called the Harley Davidson prep point. They stop in the middle of a PAY PER VIEW to be like "OMG Kevin Bacon is in a new, action packed thrillride that will make all you meatheads cum on yourselves!!Now watch this ****ing teaser!!" and then they go to Kevin Bacon in the audience and he's like "ah Chuck Liddell will knack him out because we did coke at the Mirage last weekend!" and him and everyone in the audience is shaking their fist and sneering at the camera. More and more guys are getting into the "cage" and having scripted tussles at the end of fights. In 5 years they will have laser light shows and gorillas going around on rollerskates revving chainsaws
      LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Two different sports. MMA looks funny to me. But hats off to them for keeping it clean. giving their fans what they want good PPV cards and leaving out all the fixed ****ttt that line the pockets of crooked promoters.

It works for all martial artists and finally gives our Wrestling culture something to work for. It gives our high school wrestlers something to aspire to be then just the Olympics. So you got the whole of the Martial Arts community behind it. The Martial Arts mentality just permeates through. If there's exciting matches, there's exciting matches. If the the match is boring, there are apologies for it to be boring.

And then there are the dumbasses who are looking for meathead personalities and first blood. The same kind of *******s who buy an Affliction or TAPOUT shirt even though they're too fat to even compete.

You need your eyes checked then.

EDIT: Torres and Mizugaki should be up here too, but WEC hasn't made the fight poster yet.

I've been around the MMA since its genesis and i have never been enthusiastic the way i am about boxing. The UFC sounded cool and intersting, but the first time i watched it was like "boring." In the 90s there was no such thing as MMA. It was just the UFC.

In fact, i'm an OG mixed martial artist, before there even was mixed martial arts. And i've never been interested in cage fighting. I prefer watching street fights or boxing. IMO, that's all.

(for all my Cannucks out there)
Agreed. It definitely attracts a low-brow crowd which is what really brings in the numbers, though not to say there aren't those who truly appreciate the sport. I can't help but watch one of the things and think "trash". The announcers sound like they used to call WWF, the cameras follow the ring card rings back to their seats, I could go on. How often do you see mature adults over the age of 40 at one of these things? There's a reason why Ross Greenburg, HBO's president of sports who has always produced quality programming, won't touch MMA.
