I was born in Pinas but been living in the US since 12 years old. For me, i don't think its the food. I went to a private school in Pinas, it has both elementary and high school. As a 11-12 years old, i am the same height as some of the 14-15 years old. I was one of the taller guys with my classmates. The only diffrence with the food here in the US is the mixture of food but i mostly ate Pinoy foods. Living in the province, i drunk water buffalo milk, not cow. Its more with heredity. On my fathers side, were bigger. On my mothers side, their smaller.

i think it's hereditary too of course but if you compare filipino born fil-ams and american-born fil-ams......the american born guys are huge.

What is right to eat is all subjective.
Different cultures and societies have different views on what good food is.

A hindu would look at us eating cows and be disgusted.
Hell yeah, I'd rather eat Fido then worms!

Ummm, I don't know where you from but go to any basketball gym in South City Bay Area you'll be surprise how tall the new generations are. I see them ranging from 6 feet and up to 6'8"... May be your talking about Filipinos that were born in the 80's then they are short.

I wasn't referring to Filipinos as short. I was just asking a member that if we had a thread about a members height and weight. There were some Pinoy members who were taller than the average Pinoy.


I am here in Los Angeles. A 6'8 Pinoy, still in high school? Tell him to go to La Salle in Philippines. I am just 5'11.

Yeah, it has to do with the food. Cow milk is not that much available in the provinces in Philippinces. But there is water buffalo milk available though. I prefer that over cow mik cuz water buffalo milk is sweater. Also, it is delivered early in the morning when i was still there.

My nephew(15 years old) who was born in Pinas but came here in the US when he was 8, is taller than me. His about 6 ft. I believed it has to do more with milk for being tall.
