Deigo Corrales is grossly underrated.

dont forget that Corrales was in jail for 14 months and didnt fight again for 2 years after the Mayweather fight. that probebly set him back.

I actually think overall Corrales was better after the Mayweather loss though.

I did forget about that, oh yeah. Corrales changed back to his earlier self after Mayweather it seemed, but I didn't think he was as good as he was way early on athletically. His boxing ability was definitely improved though.

Why is it that people tend to focus on his fights after his first fight with Castillo? It's obviously apparent that fight ruined him as an elite fighter, and wasn't the same ever since that magical fight.

Excluding his last 3 fights (fights all post Castillo I), he was 40-2, and his only two losses coming from Floyd Mayweather, and him suffering an unfortunate cut against Joel Casamayor which caused in early stoppage. Not to mention he beat Casamayor in the rematch.

Derrick Gainer
Angel Manfredy
Roberto Garcia

It's incredible the disrespect the man gets on this forum.
