LOL! I was actually trying to make a serious point, no tears - that it's just which punches you think landed, which is subjective, and we both agree it was very close, and neither of us should say we're right and the other person's wrong, and you still seem to be saying that you're right and I'm wrong.
Calzaghe landed a lot more punches in my opinion and the opinion of many others. They were less effective than the punches Hopkins landed, but there were enough that landed cleanly to cumulatively win a close decision, in my opinion, and in the opinions of many other people. (Including even in the opinions of a small number of Hopkins fans, by the way).
Maybe.
But the reasons for not wanting a rematch are (a) that is was an ugly fight, a rematch would almost certainly be just as ugly, and almost no one wants to see them fight again, and (b) if Hopkins wanted a rematch, he sure knows how to cut off his nose to spite his face. The way he acted in the post match press conference was guaranteed to make Calzaghe feel the guy didn't deserve a second chance.
You have to take into account quantity as well as quality. I don't mean quantity of punches that didn't land, or were blocked. We just disagree on whether enough landed cleanly to cumulatively compensate for the one or two clean and more effective punches that Hopkins landed per round. I respect your opinion, and I hope you respect mine.
