I agree cept for the part where you say Dawson is 10x better. Taylor is a pretty good fighter.

But, Hopkins wants no part of Dawson. Everyone on this board knows he's only going after Adamek because he believes he's a one dimensional white boy that caters to his style. And i hope Adamek knocks Hopkins out for that.

Taylor came late to the sport.

Chad's has been fighting since he was a child...He is FAR smarter than Jermain..and his stanima compared to Taylor's is off the charts.

Taylor is a pretty good fighter...that's all he is..pretty good.

If Johnson could be in a CLOSE match with Dawson, and Tarver can last all 12 rounds at this stage, then Hopkins has a bigger advantage of winning them most are giving him. Most are making it seem like Dawson is a legend or something. What has he proven to everybody that you are so curtain he can beat hopkins for sure????

I personally think the Adamek win was his best win, and what convinces ME that Dawson would be beat Hopkins is the fact that Taylor and Calzaghe didn't win their fights on much skill, they won it by being younger, versatile, and strong enough to not be out muscled by Hopkins and Dawson( unlike Joe and Taylor) is a natural light heavyweight. Styles makes fight and Hopkins style is no where near the style of Johnson who was willing to take punishment to dish his out.

Hopkins threw more punches in his fight with Tarver and Palik than Dawson threw in Tarver and Johnson fight

There are no numbers available for Dawson v Johnson (I even looked at my recording to see if they posted them at the end)

As for Hopkins fight you mentioned

vs Tarver 417 punches thrown (34.75 per rd)
vs Pavlik 530 punches thrown (44.16 per rd)

I cant say for sure but I am guess Dawson threw more in the Johnson fight.

If you watch the first Taylor Hopkins fight, Hopkin hurt taylor in the 9, 10 and 11 rounds. Taylor didn't do anything but throw more punches. in the 3 round when Hopkins fell against the ropes, Taylor right hand never even touch B-Hop. He was triped.

I think youre referring to the second round where Taylor had Hopkins "hurt." Punch landed on his back and he struggled to regain his footing. Quite frankly - and I know this isn't a popular opinion but I encourage everyone to watch the fight again on mute - I had Hopkins winning that first fight 8 rounds to 4. I just don't see all of these rounds Taylor won regardless of what Jim Lampley said. Shoot, I didn't even have Taylor winning the first round.

That said, I doubt Bernard Hopkins blows out Chad Dawson. Dawson may not be as powerful as Pavlik but he's much sturdier and also more athletic. The latter poses a problem for most fighters, Hopkins being no exception (Jones, Taylor and Calzaghe). Still, only one of those fighters mentioned beat him convincingly. It's a tall order for Dawson.

2 me, Hopkins beat Taylor and Calzaghe, and showed his age. Jones he lost fair and square

all I gotta say on this is.....Chad fits the profile of the type of fighter that troubles Hopkins......but Hopkins is a master at beating southpaws......Chad is a conventional southpaw unlike Joe Calzaghe who fights from the southpaw stance but his style makes him unconventional. I like both guys chances but I think the old vet would snatch this from the young lion in a game of high speed chess.......the smartest fighter wins this......Hopkins by decision.....SD or UD but I wouldn't be suprised if he stopped Chad.
