I generally never include Griffith-Parret on any of my knockout lists. It was brutal, but it is very hard to glorify that (atleast to me).

A couple that I like that were not on here Hearns-Cuevas, Tyson-Berbick, and Bob Foster-**** Tiger

            Hearns-Cuevas was a corker, as was Hearns-Shuler

I thought it was ****ed up that he decided to add that. When i think best KO, that doesn't even cross my mind. Especially since for a good KO to happen, the drama has to happen in the ring not in a hospital.

Griffith admits that he has had nightmares for forty years about the tragic bout and still feels tremendous guilt over the death of Benny Paret. In the last scene of Ring Of Fire, Griffith was introduced to Benny Paret's son. The son embraced the elderly fighter and told him he was forgiven. However, Paret's widow Lucy could not bring herself to meet him.

It is probably my favorite Hearns knockout, even over the Duran knockout. Hearns has an impressive reel of knockoutouts, one of the most fearsome punchers of all time..

it was a shocking ko but not really brutal. the kd tyson landed on buster that buster got up from was more brutal.

Yea, replace tyson vs Doug with Sam Peter vs Williams or hearns vs Cuevas and that list will be perfect.

Sad story. I once saw an interview with Emile Griffith, who was talking about the tragic incident. The poor man was clearly traumatised.

There's another sad story about a boxer called Johnny Owen a.k.a The Matchstick Man, from my hometown of Merthyr Tydfil. He fought for the world title against Lupe Pintor. After Pintor KO'd Owen in the 12th round Owen failed to regain consciousness, lapsed into a coma and died seven weeks later.

But in 2002, he was invited to Wales by Johnny Owen's family to help unveil a bronze statue commemorating the Matchstick Man.
