it worked didn't it??? I along with many wanted the clottey fight over the berto fight and we got it. doesnt matter if you are positive or negative, all press is good press and I have my part to play and you have your part to play.

anyway..there are so many scenarios that can happen..Clottey Ko, Cotto Ko, Cotto Out boxes, Clottey Pressures, Clottey decision, Cotto desicion ,Body shot win either way, Plaster in gloves.....but you pick the least likely, a close Clottey decision robbing....huh?
i never said a close fight was a robbery... I just said that cotto is more likely to get the decision so clottey needs to go for the KO

As for Margarito..Im so tired of him..its like whatever. Technically Cotto is up now with a belt and Margarito is Down with a bad beating loss and suspension so we all have to wait to see if Margarito even makes it back. Which remains to be seen.
doesnt matter margo still has a victory over cotto even thought it's tainted, he still made cotto quit.

margo will be back and cotto must rematch him to avenge his loss and regain his honor

I think we should all respect one another and be mindful of others when we post. With that being said, I don't think Cotto will take this fight. Not because he's scared, as I don't believe any boxer is scared to fight any other boxer but because boxing is a business. You make fights based on how much money you can make and how much money it will help you make in the future. Yeah I know a win against Clottey will catapult Cotto to new heights. Just remember that Cotto is in line for possibly his biggest (in terms of money) fight. All that is needed is a Pacquiao victory in may and a win for Cotto in june, to set up a Cotto VS Pacquiao fight at the end of 09. If I were Cotto's promoter or manager I would try to convince him other wise. If the fight is signed, my hats goes off to Cotto. Too bad boxers don't have that (I want to fight the best? mentality, with the exceptions of a handful of them. After saying all the reasons why the fight might won't come through , I really hope this fight does happen. I see an exciting fight, where Cotto would eat Clotteys rib cage as we all know clottey leaves his abdomen exposed when covering up. At the end, I just don't think Cotto hits hard enough to hurt Clottey, therefore I see a pickem fight slightly favoring Clottey.
Well said...And your opinion makes good sense(this coming from a Cotto fan that believe Cotto wins) but you hardly get anywhere with some of these guys when you make sense.
They back Nationality if the fighter is a dirty cheater as long as he is the "same as them", and down a good fighter if he is a different Nationality. Just giving you a heads up on some of these guys...youll see.

      • Just wondering has Clottey ever fought anyone who hits anywhere as hard or precise as Cotto? I understand he hasn't been hurt, but his W list is full largely of people I don't recognize and that don't seem to be as hard hitting as Cotto based on their records and KOs. I think we might be reading too much into the fact that Clottey hasn't been hurt.

          1. It worked...in whose eyes and on what level?
2.If you insinuate that a Clottey betters Cotto on a draw but loses the fight ..I call that a robbery...no matter how you word it.
3.No one mentioned "the questionable win of Margarito I mention their Current and "no way you can change their status" positions...One up and one down.
As for "the quit"....if your corner throws in the towel...its not the same as quitting on the stool. Or are you new to boxing and dont know this?
Fighter cannot control his corner thowing in the towel...on the stool the fighter quit. These are facts not biased racist opinions.

          • This is going to be a great fight if it does go through. That's what Cotto should be doing. Cleaning up the division if he wants to get back to the top and be recognized as the best in the welterweight division. That's what fighters should do, clean up their division and then go on to new heights. This is going to be a tough one to call, I think this fight will go down to the wire.

clottey went 12 rounds against margarito and cotto didn't.

in the eyes of and on the level of this message board. doesn;t it hype you up when we give our POVs on cotto/clottey? it makes the anticipation for this fight greater.

you're putting words in my mouth... i never said that. I just think clottey needs to get a KO if he expects to win

3.No one mentioned "the questionable win of Margarito I mention their Current and "no way you can change their status" positions...One up and one down.
I understand that cotto;s standing is higher than marg's right now, but regardless cotto has unfinished business with margarito.

commonmang... we both know cotto wanted to fight to end... his corner threw in the fight because he kept looking towards them to throw in the towel. quitting isn't as shameful as people make it out to be... since when has admitting that you're defeated a bad thing when you are clearly overmatched and beaten? cotto did the right thing by quitting

Very True. Marquez is doing it, Pacman is doing it, Cotto is starting to do it. People need to step up!

That' right, I get irritated when people call PBF a fighter, since 03' after the Castillo fight he never took a real challenge.

I give Floyd Mayweather his props. He has tremendous skill and ability. And he did fight some good people. However, he left the game too early. I feel he does have some unfinished business. There's stll alot of great fighters he has yet to face.
