It's the constant bickering over the p4p rankings that put me off it completely. I've never acknowledged, paid attention to nor cared about them - and I don't intend on doing so, either. I care about who's the best in their division(s), who has a title, and that's it.
Hatton should let it go, too. It's getting to his head. I'd rather he unify 140 rather than chase up these pointless 147 money fights constantly (Floyd II, Cotto, Mosley, etc.)
The bottom line is this: Which fighter can impose their gameplan and stick to it will win the fight. Period. Personally I believe Hatton is going to put Manny on the back foot and knock him out. This is how Hatton fights. When was the last time you saw Manny going backwards and fighting off the back foot constantly? Never. Think about this for a second. Remember Pavlik-Miranda? Pavlik destroyed Miranda by backing him up and keeping him going backwards. Yes, Miranda is a hellacious puncher and doesn't have half the talent or speed Manny does, so don't start with that. I'm aware of this. My point is that Miranda, like Manny, is an aggressor and does his best work going FORWARD. Once you get him out of his forward rhythm he is a fish out of water. Can Manny box? Yes he can, against someone who isn't throwing back(in example, Oscar De La Hoya). What happened in Marquez-Pacquiao 2 when JMM stepped forward and unloaded? Manny got rocked, and badly. Imagine a much heavier puncher in Hatton imposing his will and negating Manny by staying on him CONSTANTLY, ala the Tsyzu fight. You have never seen Manny get outwilled and forced backwards, something that Hatton excels at, even against Mayweather, albeit a loss. His pressure had Mayweather in fits for the first 4 rounds until he got careless and blew it in the later rounds. I am a fan of both fighters in Pacquiao and Hatton, but unless Ricky gets a bad cut and stopped on it I don't see Pacquiao being able to finish Hatton. Is it possible? Sure it is. Is it likely? No. Hatton will pressure and impose his will, delivering hard shots to the body and Manny has a weakness there. Either way, a great fight is to be had. I recommend everyone stop drinking the Kool Aid and see it from both sides, and I repeat whoever imposes THEIR WILL early is going to take it.

I've maintained that all along, but the only question remains - is Hatton slick enough to get on Pac's inside and deliver his usual hard-hitting gameplan?
The plodding Hatton that faced Tszyu and Collazo (and, in the later rounds against Floyd) is almost certainly a sitting duck to potshots if he dares to approach Pac with the stiff, limited head and upper body movement that he displayed back then.
However, if he keeps those earmuffs on and tries hard enough to match Pac's head movement (which IMO is one of the best in boxing today), then he's in with a chance to bully the **** out of him. Also, if the fast footwork he displayed against Castillo is present, he'll be even more dangerous.
...yet weak at welterweight? Hatton is indeed large for 140 but not excessively so.
Almost makes me think... ditch the 140 division altogether and make it a bracket between 137 (LW) and 145 (WW). You either make one of those, or be a 1-dimensional bum. Sometimes it kinda frustrates me that Hatton is "locked" into 140 like it means everything to him.
