Check his output for the Taylor fights then compare it to his jump to LHW. But, even for a LHW I guess his punch stats aren't too good. . but it's a big difference compared to the energy he had for Taylor.
ok so if the excuse is hopkins was "dead", then i guess that walking corpse part-time movie actor tarver can use the same "dead" excuse in his one sided loss to hopkins...
the truth is here, when hopkins fights a fighter of equal size with equal talent who he can't intimidate with the dirty tactics (taylor, jones, calzaghe), he loses and the excuses are inexcuseable...lol

Hopkins dissing Joe ?
Joe constantly dissed Hopkins post fight even cursed him with all sorts of swear words.
What about him?

But it would be boring as ****, no two ways about it.
Both Hopkins and somehow nobody ever really gets it Joe Calzaghe are spoilers. They spoil the other guys work, it's what they do.
I'd watch it, and it would be crap. And Calzaghe would win again. Wider because it will be in Wales.
Hopkins has a small chance of knocking Calzaghe out, so small that it is almost negligable.
If you're Calzaghe you don't take this fight because it really is pointless.

You could see his expression change during the press conference to cold fury when Hopkins refused to shake his hand. At that moment, in my mind, any chance of a rematch died.Last edited by Dave Rado; 03-06-2009, 01:11 PM.

But still, Wess has opened my mind a little, and I'd give the fight the benefit of the doubt until it happened, if it were to happen. But I agree that it probably won't and for the reasons you gave. It's nothing to do with protecting his 0, and the posts saying that it is are getting very old.
The fight was a dull one. Many gave it Joe, Many gave it Hopkins.
It was effectively a draw.
If you ask me, Hopkins came out on top, since at the age of 43, and years passed his best, He schooled Joe, and made Joe bareley survive, and take a dodgy SD.
Not only that, Joe cussed and cursed Hopkins, always throwing a fit whenever someone mentioned Hopkins' name lol.
Had he any decency, he would have given a re-match, but instead he went after a washed up passed it Roy Jones, and retired.
Sorry pal, that for me, is just pathetic

Anyway both guys have talked trash. Joe even admitted to hitting Hop low... Thats not the point though. Its good for the both of them and there careers. Its the ONLY fight that makes cents into dollars and dollars into millions of millions of dollars with fans glad to see there fighter in the ring once more.
I dont understand why Calzaghe fans who are sure he will win dont want this to happen. I mean if it does happen it will be in Wales.....
I have my favorite fighters and I dont care who they fight especially if its in there home town. I just like to see them fight. Maybe its just me.
Its a win win for the fans of the sport. Like I said we have seen worse fights and I would enjoy a rematch with of course the HBO 24/7 count down that would draw so much hype that I think it would be up there with the PPV numbers.
I'm game for it! Lets see it!

Against Taylor he had to incorporate conserving energy into his strategy because he would get fatigued in those bouts making 160. This is what Hopkins said, you may not believe him, but I'm seeing better performance output since Taylor. Even in a sluggish performance against Joe he produced more than he did against Taylor.

Of course people will still be calling for a Dawson fight which is whole other story....
I just think it would be a better fight than before with A LOT of drama in the build up. Boxing needs that.
I like MMA and right now there killing it!
note: I'm a fan of boxing any day over MMA... But I do enjoy both sports.
