HOP has said after the Pavlik fight he will let his hands go and fight. He knows first hand Joe cant punch hard enough to get by his defense and hurt him. He knows first hand he can drop Calzaghe and as a matter of fact if you know anything about the fight you would notice (as Emanuel Stewart presented) Hop "almost" dropped him a few times. So why would he hold as much, he has something to prove now. He already said he would fight. I believe he will.

Will this fight be tactical? Sure. Will it be dirty? Yes, especially if Joe pulls the ****sexual act of acting like he was having sex with Bernard Hopkins doggie style (must be a euro thing???? Someone explain.).

This fight for BOTH men would make big statements. True/die-hard fans want to see it. Boxing needs it. The money is there. Joe Calzaghe's fans will be there for sure buying tickets. A$$'s will be in the seats. So what's the problem. EVERYONE here knows damn well that if it were to happen you would pay 50, 60, 70 dollars to watch this fight. Either way this would be an interesting fight with a BIG impact on each fighters career.

Its all up to Joe and rightfully so. He's retired. I would give him much respect for taking on B-HOP again. Both guys would make a hell of a lot of money, especially Joe . Should be his biggest pay yet. I'm for it. I hope it happens. There has been worse fights. Lets see these old men fight once more and retire once and for all........

    No hate...just my 3 cents.....
Fair points, it's nice to see a Hopkins fan who isn't a hater - it's a shame there aren't more like you. You've almost convinced me that it could be a good and worthwhile fight. Maybe if Hopkins were to publicly apologise for dissing Calzaghe in the post-match press conference, it might even happen.

Check his output for the Taylor fights then compare it to his jump to LHW. But, even for a LHW I guess his punch stats aren't too good. . but it's a big difference compared to the energy he had for Taylor.
come on bro you really believe that? its as if taylor had nothing to do with hopkins being "dead"....thats just giving taylor (a green taylor at that) too little credit for getting not one but two victories on hopkins and chasing him out of the middleweight division...the truth is taylor had hopkins tentative and only willing to throw one punch here and there both fights...when the judges gave taylor the split the first go round and ud in the rematch, hopkins cried...

ok so if the excuse is hopkins was "dead", then i guess that walking corpse part-time movie actor tarver can use the same "dead" excuse in his one sided loss to hopkins...

the truth is here, when hopkins fights a fighter of equal size with equal talent who he can't intimidate with the dirty tactics (taylor, jones, calzaghe), he loses and the excuses are inexcuseable...lol

But it would be boring as ****, no two ways about it.

Both Hopkins and somehow nobody ever really gets it Joe Calzaghe are spoilers. They spoil the other guys work, it's what they do.

I'd watch it, and it would be crap. And Calzaghe would win again. Wider because it will be in Wales.

Hopkins has a small chance of knocking Calzaghe out, so small that it is almost negligable.

If you're Calzaghe you don't take this fight because it really is pointless.
Yeah, Wess made some good points, but really I think you've got it right, it would be another ugly fight, and Calzaghe would probably win again, and Hopkins would say he was robbed again, and it would leave another bad taste in the mouth, and nothing would have been achieved. But still, Wess has opened my mind a little, and I'd give the fight the benefit of the doubt until it happened, if it were to happen. But I agree that it probably won't and for the reasons you gave. It's nothing to do with protecting his 0, and the posts saying that it is are getting very old.

He was reacting to having been publicly dissed.

You could see his expression change during the press conference to cold fury when Hopkins refused to shake his hand. At that moment, in my mind, any chance of a rematch died.

              Save it pal.

The fight was a dull one. Many gave it Joe, Many gave it Hopkins.
              It was effectively a draw.
If you ask me, Hopkins came out on top, since at the age of 43, and years passed his best, He schooled Joe, and made Joe bareley survive, and take a dodgy SD.

Not only that, Joe cussed and cursed Hopkins, always throwing a fit whenever someone mentioned Hopkins' name lol.
Had he any decency, he would have given a re-match, but instead he went after a washed up passed it Roy Jones, and retired.

Sorry pal, that for me, is just pathetic

Well I do my fair share of hating but most of the time its just to piss off the always 24/7 defending Joe Calzaghe fans.

Anyway both guys have talked trash. Joe even admitted to hitting Hop low... Thats not the point though. Its good for the both of them and there careers. Its the ONLY fight that makes cents into dollars and dollars into millions of millions of dollars with fans glad to see there fighter in the ring once more.

I dont understand why Calzaghe fans who are sure he will win dont want this to happen. I mean if it does happen it will be in Wales.....

I have my favorite fighters and I dont care who they fight especially if its in there home town. I just like to see them fight. Maybe its just me.

Its a win win for the fans of the sport. Like I said we have seen worse fights and I would enjoy a rematch with of course the HBO 24/7 count down that would draw so much hype that I think it would be up there with the PPV numbers.

I'm game for it! Lets see it!

Yeah. The stamina increase for the most part at LHW speaks for itself. Wright, who I see on equal footing as Taylor.. Hopkins threw almost 700 punches in that fight and could box all 12 rounds. I only gave BHop that fight by a point. Bernard couldn't crack 400 and looked ancient when facing Jermain.

Against Taylor he had to incorporate conserving energy into his strategy because he would get fatigued in those bouts making 160. This is what Hopkins said, you may not believe him, but I'm seeing better performance output since Taylor. Even in a sluggish performance against Joe he produced more than he did against Taylor.

Well if Joe wins I think personally it would seal the deal. Hop knows what he must do to win especially with it being in Wales. It would be a great win for either guy.

Of course people will still be calling for a Dawson fight which is whole other story....

I just think it would be a better fight than before with A LOT of drama in the build up. Boxing needs that.

I like MMA and right now there killing it!

note: I'm a fan of boxing any day over MMA... But I do enjoy both sports.
