Your examples make some sense, but I don't see how Dempsey beats the Tyson who fought Spinks, nor how Dempsey beats Foreman. And I don't see how that version of Tyson would lose to Holyfield. The Tyson Holyfield beat was a shell of the boxer-puncher he had once been.

At the time they fought Holyfield was past-prime as well. In fact he was considered far more washed up than Tyson was. I think Holyfield beats EVERY version of Tyson you care to put him in with. The Spinks example is misleading. Spinks was a puffed up Light-Heavyweight who hadn't fought in more than a year and was obviously scared to death climbing in the ring. I would say he was looking for a soft place to land from the moment the first punch landed. The Ruddock fights were more impressive showings by Tyson in my view anyway.

You guys really dont know much about Tyson if you think hes over rated. For those who dont know my trainer is friends with mike and told me that tyson was 289 pounds in december before fighting douglas and shed all the way down to 220 pounds even then he was partying and not taking training seriously. Mike tyson is in my top 7 for best heavyweights of all time . You guys dont think rocky wasnt over rated please.

A prime tyson took out toney tubbs in 2 rounds and bowe couldnt get it done at all. IN fact many people believe tubbs won the fight. Plus Tyson was the only guy to knock out larry holmes. Even though larry was older holyfield couldnt get it done mercer couldnt beat him .

mike tyson is not underrayted he is overrated come on he fought bums most of the time. had he not avoided evander he would have lost sooner.then when he did fight evander and better fighters he got clocked not because cus was no longer in his corner but because he was not that great.so to all tyson lovers go suck a because i know this will make you cry.
