He isn't? Really? And there was I, thinking a 20 fight prospect flawed enough to have been declared "un accomplished", "china chinned" and "weak hearted" would have a mile-long queue of knowledgeable pundits ready to declare his eliteness.

What a completely ****** non sequitur.

FWIW...'Elite' isn't a status granted to all who are possessed of some talent (and Khan's talent was clearly offset by some glaring fundamental flaws from the get-go, anyway), it's a status you prove. Khan is unproven, like any other with a ledger of 20 fights. Nobody with a clue would have suggested he was even eligible to be considered 'elite' at this stage of a career.

    Pardon?

Anyway, I think Barrera has a better chance of stopping this one early than he does late. The longer it goes, the more I see it being Khan's fight...unless he gets careless (which is a possibility, given his seeming tendency to mental lapses).

First of all, odd bump. Second of all, it's not really clear what your trying to get out of doing so.

What part of my quotes are you actually dis agreeing with, you don't make this entirely clear. I'm not sure why you've raised the word elite since I did not, so where does that come into it. For what it's worth, not so long ago Khan was a top 10 LW in Ring, so that is technically elite.

Anyways, I wasn't going on about that so much. He's a good fighter, but I stand by what I said. I think he has a very weak chin, heart and is in experienced, so why the reply, what was the point.

As for saying pardon to saying Freddie Roach is one of the best trainers in the sport, now your just being ridiculous. Roach was once trainer of the year and there's broad consensus he's on of the best trainers in the game.

If you want to block that out and believe what you want then fine. But don't reply like you disagreeing is akin to the pope dis agreeing. Your not the pope, sir.

I've seen in British papers that bookies have been taking more bets for a Barrera win. My local also said that Barrera has been the peoples favourite for the win.

Nobody is underrating Barrera, he's just old. I mean what part of old don't some of you understand?

Marco managed to get to get to a UD loss against a younger JMM now p4p #2 than Diaz just faced, and yet he was TKO'd. He also in 07, managed to be relatively competitive with Pacman despite being TKO'd by him first time around. Two years is awhile ok, but not that long. Marco is still a fit athlete and not that far from still proving his worth at the absolute top level. Has Khan come anywhere near that?

Marco has not slipped to the extent people seem to make out, and I'm seeing a common pattern with guys being drastically written off just because there not title holders, have a few losses, and aren't as good as they once were suddenly = shot. But he still has more than enough to beat an un accomplished, china chinned weak hearted Amir Khan.

Especially given Amir Khan it seems is not really quite agreed upon as a top accomplished elite boxer even by a lot of people.

I believe the weight gain could well suite Barrera, I think he'll keep about the same speed in that division meaning his loss of speed won't be as big a factor at LW. I also think he'll carry his power over well. With his skills and experience he's very likely imo to beat Khan, and KO him late.

Just why Khan is being given quite such a good chance and picked by so many astonishes me given these factors, and just how much he's been criticised on these boards. I think Khan is very talented but only wins this if he really has made massive defensive improvements under agreeably a top trainer in Roach.
i wouldn't be suprised if barrera beats amir khan i mean people are hyping up amir khan to be something great and i dont think the kid has it to be great i think he might be good but he's not the next prince naseem hamed no way

What am I getting out of it? I read the thread and remarked on the post. What do you get out of posting the slop you post on a daily basis?

Let's not get furtive and paranoid, Kris.

I'm not disagreeing with you, per se. I'm pointing out that a chunk of your post makes no sense.

You didn't "raise" the word 'elite'?

Read the section of post I was responding.

This paragraph is so deliciously hilarious, I don't want to share why. I want to hoard the sweet comedy and keep it all to myself.

Ok, I'll share. You just wasted another aimless ramble. I passed no comment on Roach's ability as a trainer. I was just gobsmacked at your pretentious mangling of the English language.

              No, it's not.

              Poll it.

See if the knowledgeable majority agrees that a Top 10 ranking in Ring = Elite.

It's pretty clear from bumping two of my old threads and posting of little worth and just nit picking, also quite poorly, that you just have an issue with me. I find that quite flattering, thanks. lol...

Lol, you think I care about that on the internet. Most people have no problems following me. You use the word non sequitur, needlessly criticise as if your the godfather, and then mis-spell the word god smacked. Lol....

Look up elite in the dictionary. It's the top of a group, of which Khan was. Hence I said technically.

If I post poorly, then you know you're hurting when you get justifiably laughed at by me.

No need to get defensive, Kris. We're buddies. I like you, Kris.

Ya know, some people like to complain about poor grammar and bad spelling, but I've never been that way.

I can use a great post with awful spelling and bad grammar. But a ****e post that rambles in and out of cul de sac's trying to fake a sense of gravitas around a fairly basic sentiment? That's my bugbear.

We all have our funny quirks and curious little ways, though, don't we?

Kris, I wasn't referring to a simple typo. I was referring to a chunk of post that rambled itself into a dead-end, said nothing and existed purely for the sake of existing.

But on the typo issue, I'll help you.

The expression really is 'gobsmacked'. Not 'Godsmacked'.

                  Look.

                  http://www.thefreedictionary.com/gobsmacked

Now, I think you'll find that most people are too polite or just don't give enough of a **** to point out your incontinence of verbal flatus. However, it has come to my attention that you're a **** and I felt like laughing at you today.

No, Kris. This is a boxing messageboard. Thus, we use words like 'elite' in a specific context. A boxing context.

                  Poll it.

                  Yes, I'm insignificant.

Because, here, on this boxing messageboard, being deemed significant by the next poster along is very important, right? Here in this virtual scene which has no basis in reality whatsoever?

By replying me and defending your sorry ass from my wicked barbs, you're proving my insignificance...right?

FWIW, I'm bumping a couple of your threads because I was reading them and I thought it would be funny to laugh at what a **** you are. It happens here every day, nothing new.

And if you say you've never done the same in a far more opportunistic fashion, you're a liar.

I still don't get why Warren made this fight happen. It's a lose-lose situation for Khan. If he wins, he won't get any credit because Barrera is old and blown-up and if he loses it ruins his chances at world-class level.

                      Lose-Lose.
