Polite?

I think you're reading way to much into it. Roach is merely being polite, just like Pac.

When has Freddie Roach ever been polite when it came to Manny Pacquiao's opponents? Or to anybody in general? Just a few weeks ago he said Manny had nothing to worry about Correct? Now it's something different. I've been following this fight & articles closely & Roach's been back sliding on several occasions & I'm not making this up.

He sounds pretty confident to me if you read the rest of his press conference quote:

"It will be a great fight in the first half but Manny will get to him in the later rounds and will knock him out at some point," he said.

"Ricky is very resilient but his come-forward nature will walk him into some shots and that will get him out of there. He's tailor made for us.

"Mayweather Snr is trying to improve that but I don't think you can change Ricky Hatton at this point in his career.

"Once he gets hit, he'll lose composure and revert to what he does best and that's fight.

"Ricky talks about having worked on his defence and head movement but he is what he is. He's been doing this for a long time.

"They'll have a gameplan coming into the fight but after the first round he'll go back to his natural style.

"That's good for him in some ways because that's the best shot he's got at beating Manny.

"If he tries to outbox Manny and fights like Floyd teaches then he'll lose.

"Floyd teaches one way and one way only and that's not suited for Ricky in my opinion. He'd be foolish to try and outbox Manny."

He knows it won't be easy, like you say, but he seems confident.

You only proved to me that Roach is unsure. How can he say that Ricky Hatton is YOUNGER, FRESHER & can cause problems in one breath but then say Manny Pacquiao will handle him & Floyd teaching won't be a factor? I don't get it. Plus I think what you just posted I read before this article. All in all either Roach comes correct on his predictions or just shut up & let the fight happen.

Ricky Hatton is NO David Diaz and is UNBEATEN at 140. Manny Pacquiao is a visitor. I don't think Manny's power or speed will effect Hatton in a big way because Hatton has power & is fast himself. Manny's chin is always there. All Ricky Hatton has to do is not back down & the fight becomes a brawl & Manny gets hit Flush & Hatton has one punch KNOCK DOWN or KO power Manny doesn't.
