What do you think of replacing Max Kellerman on HBO with John Skully?

In all the fights I have seen with him, he's the only one calling the fight the way it really is. In the Marg fight he was saying how the pace is favoring Marg because Cotto would wear down and Marg is a second half fighter. All the other ones were saying it was basically over and Cotto was dominating.
Same with Marquez vs Diaz, he was never counting out Marquez and was the only one saying how Marquez was getting stronger and stronger.
Lamply needs to quit he's the worst and Stewart surprises me on how bad he calls fights with all the knowledge he has.Comment

Kellerman is horrible. He's a nerdy Orville Reddenbacher type of geek that can quote names and dates from boxing history but he has no clue as to what he's looking at while the fight is going on. Possibly the only use for Kellerman is to have him but in every once in a while like they do with Harold Lederman except have Kellerman talk about some fight from 1954 or something. Like a resident HBO boxing nerd. That would be cool, but Kellerman has no ****ing business calling a fight. He's clueless.Comment

Kellerman is often wrong in what he says (example: he said Eubank knocked down Calzaghe in the first round of their fight, but actually Calzaghe knocked down Eubank; and he said Rahman took the fight with Wlad on three weeks notice, when negotiations started seven weeks before he fight and it was signed six weeks before, at the end of October).
Some of what he comes out with is absurd. For example, he was saying Paul Williams is a combination of Hearns, Leonard and Hagler.Comment

He also has a borderline sexual fetish for muscular black American fighters, especially if they are from New York and/or have some sort of strutting hip hop attitude. And excluding the Klitchskos he totally disrespects and discounts fighters coming out of Europe. Like I said he has no idea what he's looking at when he watches a boxing match.Comment

Kind of on the subject... in regard to some of the announcing teams we see on the air today, I think some of the guys on some of the channels who are in charge of the boxing analysis are not exactly qualified to give very deep accounts of what a fighter is doing, WHY he is doing it, what he is trying to accomplish, what he might feel, etc...you also, if you are going to have a boxer be the one (a logical choice for THAT role) you need one who can relay the information in a way that the average fan in TV land can understand and comprehend...Comment

Didn't Max mention that Calzaghe beat Nigel Benn? im sure i heard him say that, when he was reeling of a few of opponents Joe has defeated.Comment
