That's how I see it too.

I was never that interested in Juan Diaz until last night.

    Now, I'm a fan.

His stocked dropped in my eyes, but I honestly was thinking he could take anyone at LW prior to last night. Now its hard to say how well he will recover, and even if he does the blueprint to beat him has been well laid out.
Regardless, he is still a good fighter and would beat the **** out of most top ten LWs. Juan Manuel Marques is just a badass.

Went toe to toe with one of the better fighters of his era. I had him winning that final rd (until the KD & eventual KO), had he won that rd it would have been even on my card.

We just learned he was still a step behind the #2 boxer in the world.

If Marquez moves up, Diaz is the best lightweight in the world in my eyes and can be atop the division for quite some time.

diaz fought a valiant fight. i had him ahead.
altho it was obvious marquez was landing the harder.
so he drops to second spot. he's still improving.
              top contender.

Let most of his volume bounce off your gloves/dont open up too much when he gets going with combinations, go to the body early and often. If you dig his body hard in the early going he slows down later on. As Nate Campbell put it "hes there to hit".

Yeah but the kid is on his way to Law School. I dont think he was planning on fighting very much longer, at this point its gonna take him a while to get back to the top. IDK Juan is still my boy but things arent looking up for his boxing career right now.
