That other thread is ******. Juan Diaz is a class act and a genuinely good guy it seems like. He gives his best in everything, and he is trying to make a good life for himself.

The Texas accent isn't as common as one would think. The accent is more common in small predominantly white towns. In most major cities, the accent isn't as common. Its not in South Texas. Im in Austin and I was born in Houston, but I lived in Houston, Austin and most of South Texas.

When people first visit or move to Texas, they always tell me they're surprised people aren't talking like cowboys. They sound disappointed almost. But I understand what you're saying. I think Cali hispanics and Texas hispanics might sound a little different.

Even though I never tell my kids to look up to anyone because quite simply, I don't believe in looking up to anyone other than your parents, but, Juan Diaz is an athlete who I've always admired for his ability to be a role model to some kid who doesn't have proper parents to look up to. Well spoken, respectful, and a student of academics.

He'll never be an all time great boxer, but so far at this stage of his life being free of any controversy, he'll be an all time human being.
