Yeah, no way Manny drops out of the top 3 simply by losing to hatton. I'd be hard pushed to throw him off the top spot, but I wouldn't have a big problem with Marquez being #1 and Pac being #2.
I think you're right here. I think my hatred for Ricky is clouding my judgment. Top 3 would be Marquez, Pacquiao, and Hopkins.
I seriously can't fathom Hatton beating Pacquiao though. No way in hell does that happen. Pacquiao batters and bloodies him, knocking him out in the 10th.
ok, you get my point now. we are basically arguing over 1 spot. i say A CASE COULD BE MADE FOR 3, you say maybe 4 or 5......how big is the gap between being 3 or 4?
being that hatton has lost only 1 fight- to mayweather- who was #1, and if he comes back to beat the current #1 fighter, i think a case can be made for at least 3rd.......and i'm not a hatton fan, to say the least.
He have lost only once, but look at Pacs, JMMs and B-Hops resume, thats what separate those 3 from the rest.
You have to take into consideration, Ws/Ls and how he won or lost, recent competition, and resume(Wich for me do a lot).
hatton doesnt have the type of resume to propel him to the top 3!!!!!!!!
If Pac were to lose it would depend how he lost. If he legitimately gets out worked by Hatton, then yea, he should be bumped down. If he completely dominates Hatton but goes down on a body shot in the later part of the fight then you can almost give him a pass because of the jump in weight and the fact that Hatton is arguably a top 10 P4P fighter already.

I could live with that.

calzaghe didn't have the resume b-hop had either, and even tho that fight was, and still is very much disputed to this day, that win was enough to put calzaghe at #2, over hopkins, and he stayed there, even after hopkins beat the undefeated pavlik. obviously, beating a p4p fighter does much to your status.
cotto wasn't #1, but after the loss to margarito, he flew COMPLETELY off the list, and margarito, who had not even sniffed the p4p list before that, was catipulted to as high as #5 on some people's lists, just by beating cotto!
I don't care much about P4P but if Manny loses against Hatton who's P4P#1? Is it Hatton? Still Manny? Marquez? Bernard? Lmao. How the hell would that work?
If Hatton wins then it would probably be JMM, Or possibly Hatton. Calzaghe would be in the picture also, But he's retired. JMM would be the best bet.

being that some ppl like you, have hatton at 9 or 10 p4p already, is it possible, that if he beats pacman (#1) p4p, he could be 3rd after the fight?

Thats because, people overrates fighters after they win and they underrate fighters after they lose. Compare Hatton to the fighters in this thread, ill you see what Im saying
