You wouldn't put Marquez to fight Hopkins would you? Shane Mosley and Miguel Cotto have no business fighting Marquez and Pacquiao. That **** would be some disgraceful ****.
Well Manny and Marquez are taking these fights, so it suits them apparently. Its not like Mosley says "Marquez, I choose you" and Marquez has to take the fight.

That being said, you have to put wins over smaller opponents into context. When a larger fighter beats a smaller fighter who is not natural to that weight, I don't give them as much credit. I remember the debate about how much credit DLH would have gotten had he beat Pacquiao, and I dont think anyone felt he would jump way up.

Jr Welterweight challenging a Welterweight isnt that big of a thing. Pac-DLH was but in the end it didnt stop Pac from destroying DLH.

Truth be told its easier to win multiple titles nowadays than it was rule your own division with an iron fist in era's past. I mean seriously, does winning one of four titles really make you a champion? Is moving up 5 or 6lbs to win one of those four titles really a leap? I think its much tougher to take on all the best, or to unify, than winning a trinket in more than ne division today.

A weight drained DLH that is...but yeah its not too big of a deal but Shane and Cotto should fight each other instead of going after naturally smaller guys. But if a fight is signed neither side can be blamed...

what do you mean "justify the Hatton fight"?

It didn't need any justification. It was an unbeaten champion moving up ONE division (which people were saying he is too big for) to face another unbeaten champion

He is unified now.. he has the WBO, WBA and The Ring Belts all under his belt.
The WBC and IBF are vacant right now.
