In the early 90's mike tyson was p4p #1 so that basically ****s all over your argument. Does moving through weight divisions help your case? Definitely. But there is much...much more to it then that, its not that simple. You have to look at each case and look at who that fighter has fought and beat.

For the record p4p generally is a top 10 thing, but there ARE quite a few top 15 lists and even top 20 as well as honorable mentions. Do your research

first of *****, my opinion is based on the fact that all #1 p4p fighters have the same thing in common....... my opinion is what i believe to be official... notice i didnt insult anyone for thier opinion

second of all, my post are not garbage, ur just an idiot...... period

and third of all, myke tyson being #1 p4p was well deserved... but if you took the time to read then you would see that i said "wouldnt there be more hw's"..... now since you are an idiot, im guessing that you didnt know that to have more of something, at least one would have to be there.....

if you wana insult me sunny, do it the right way......

oh, and i said imo p4p is a top 5 thing.....
    ****in idiot!

All p4p fighters do not all have the same thing in common, thats why I gave you an example!! You told someone there opinion was bull****, and then asked how in (expletive) can you have a top 15 list? When they clearly exist. It is obvious to everyone that hw is a very weak division at the moment, but when there have been good champs they have been in there, ie. holyfield, lewis, and many more.

Your opinion is what you believe to be official? What are you 12? Ohh I didn't know you must work for ring magazine, sorry my bad dude

Let me tell you something which im guessing you have probably been told before your opinion matters ****, and seeing as no one on this thread agrees with you maybe you should call it a day...just a thought

Thread starter is obviously an ass!!

What's he talking about "The way p4p is ranked officially is based on the ones who move up in weight"

He obviously hasn't got a clue or he would realise there is no such thing as official P4P.

the way p4p is ranked officially is based on the ones who move up in weight..... just lookt at the top p4p fighters of the past 20 years........ u wont be number one if you dont prove your skill in hight weight classes.

most of u say it is based on what would happen if weight didnt exist. but the fact is that top p4p fighters beat fighters heavier than then, and show thatg weight isnt a factor, when in reality it is.

if a ww moves up and beats the middleweight champ, then doesnt thaat show surpreme skill?

its like the weight is there, but the smaller guy wins anyway.....

          that is true p4p...
and calderon insists that hight and weight are out of the question in p4p rankings. this isnt true because top p4p fighters have always won even when natural size and strength was a factor.

          ex: jones vs. ruiz
          mayweather vs. castillo
          pacquiao vs. dlh

Ray Robinson was p4p when he fought at middleweight.

And please Jones vs Ruiz? and Pac vs Oscar?

          idiot.

p4p rankings is a measurement of skill and proof. what i mean by that is the best p4p fighters are the ones who move up in weight and take over divisions... plz, correct me if im wrong

            plz comment/explain
            You are wrong.

P4P is simply this: If you took all the fighters in teh world and used a magic machine to make them all the same weight, hieght etc, then ordered them in terms of who would win, that is your P4P list.

It's based on Resume mainly and moving up weight division has little if anything to do with it. Or pac would not be No1 since everyone he has faced above 126 has either been a lower weight fighter or no where near the P4P list.

Basicly you need to rule your division and beat/ be competitive with people on the list.

Calzaghe: ruled his division + beat BHop who was on the list.

Hatton ruled his division + beat Tzsyu & Castillio who where on the list.

Dawson is not on the list.

look at the top 10, Apply the ruled division/beat or was competitive with people on the list to and and you'lll see how it works.

Yep agreed. Notice he's a a Floyd fan though, so he gauges is P4P list on achievements that Floyd has.

He also claimed a few days back that the ATG list should only be based on skills, in which case Floyd is Top 5 ATG.

im also a pac fan, tyson fan, and a roy jones fan.........

how can you sit back and deny that moving up in weight is what pushes you over the bar p4p? its obvious tht in order to achieve that #1 p4p status, you have to actually defy those physical advantages at least to some extent.

i would say that about 5 and down on most p4p list are completely hypothetical, due to the facts that they fight at one weight class.

floyds accomplishments alone do not justify what i am saying. But when you see roy jones, pac-man and jmm doing the same damn thing, then how can you deny it?

Because P4P means if everyone were the same weight, who would be the best fighter. So jumping in weight isn't what is important at all. It is impressive, definately a big achievement if the titles are legitimate, but not what is looked at mostly when grading P4P, which is resume/skills.

Simple but straight to the point.

This post pretty much answers it.
