No offense bro but Morales is definitely faster then Marquez his technical abilities(timing), intelligence, make him seem a bit faster.
I've been following Morales since his super bantamweight days and he is fast but I've also have been following Marquez's career and he was indeed a little bit faster especially during his youth.

Marquez's three punch combo (left hook-right cross-left uppercut) against Medina at 2:35 of the second round and though not in his physical prime anymore at 1:58 of round 7 in his fight against Jandaeng where Marquez threw a 10 punch combo are good examples.

See if you can find Marquez and Morales' fight against Enrique Jupiter. That is a good example of how Marquez was a little bit faster than Morales and as far as I can remember Jupiter fought them both at feather and superbantam.

Also a good fight for a point of comparison is against Reynante Jamili.

Maybe I am wrong, but I've seen Morales land like 7 punches in a second. That was the beginning of the end for the other fighter years ago. I am in no way saying that Marquez is slow. But of everything I've watched it is his timing and reactions. Kind of like Mayweather vs. Judah, Judah is undoubtedly the faster fighter but Mayweather uses his speed better. His timing and reactions are far better then Judah's. If that makes sense.

His 122 days his combinations were phenomenal. Throwing 3 punches and landing aren't the same as landing 7 punches, as well as hitting someone on there way down to the ground, landing about 2 while the fighter is on the way down after a 5 punch combo is far more impressive to me.

Perhaps he is faster I will have to look into it, but I remember Morales' combos and they were far more fluid then about any of Marquez's combos. While Marquez is calm and calculated, Morales was natural and fluid. They were also harder punches. Maybe Marquez wasn't sitting on his punches the same as he is now or at 130, but Pacman's speed was far less of a factor against Morales(even past prime) then it was against Marquez and that must be taken into consideration considering it was the first fighter they both faced that was faster then them.

Morales by SD in one of the best fights ever seen. People forget how great ET was in his prime. I dont remember which fight it was, but I remember him hitting a guy 4 times on the way down. I was a fan for life after that. He was tough as ****, never afraid to go toe to toe, had big power and speed. He was one of the best fighters (and no Im not say THE best) in the last 20 years. Still Marquez would give him all he could handle.

You're not necessarily wrong. Marquez's technique and calm demeanor makes him just a little bit "looser" giving that extra but slight speed advantage. If Morales loosened up or calmed down a little bit, he would easily be on equal footing with Marquez speedwise.

One thing is for sure though, Morales and Marquez not squaring off in their youth is a big robbery to the fans.
