this is rediculous! why would he fight marquez when he could make more money fighting pacquiau/hatton!
im no mayweather fan but as much as i like marquez, floyd would ko him! unless he came down in weight which he wont do!
i cant see jmm moving up to 147, if he did hed get ko`d(unless he fought oscar)
even diaz (whos a flabby lw) had him under pressure for spells!
so in a way oscars right but "duck" is the wrong word!
would be an easy payday for mayweather though!

Coz if he gets 4 divisions he will become Mexico's greatest.
Current Lineal, Ring, WBA and WBO lightweight world champion; was IBF, WBA, and WBO featherweight champion and the WBC super featherweight champion. In terms of Lineal and Ring, only Lightweight, though; and winning an alphabet belt without being the recognised no. 1 in a division isn't very meaningful, IMO, and I certainly don't think it would make him Mexico's greatest fighter. But for those who like statistics, he'd be the first to win belts in four divisions, yes - unless Barrera can do it first.

Yeah the guy retires in his prime and then starts demanding ridiculous sums of money to come back and fight. Yeah right.

Whatever happened to the nonsense of Mayweather being underrated on these forums as well? All I've read about potential bouts between PBF vs Pacman and PBF vs Marquez is along the lines of: Opponent x is made for Mayweather. Floyd wins by wide UD or KO. How is he underrated when most people wouldn't give the current P4P #1/#2 a chance against him?

The point about those match-ups is that Lightweight is probably the highest possible peak fighting weight for JMM, given his frame type and age, and Jnr Welter is probably the highest possible peak fighting weight for Pacquiao.

JMM had a great win yesterday but Diaz was tailor made for him. Diaz is a very good fighter but he has little defense, no lateral movement, and hes all guts and heart but little strategy.

Hes very fast with his punches but he does the same stuff over and over again, hes dangerous when he gets you on the ropes but he doesnt seem to have the power in his punches to take someone elite out. When hes hurt he doesnt think safety, he just goes back in there ******** it all.

All Marquez had to do was let him get a little tired even if losing some rounds, hit him strong to the body and then when he was getting slower and predictable just pick the right spots with bad intentions. And that was it. Floyd is an all different animal in the ring and im sure Oscar knows it. Anyway great winn for JMM yesterday, was a great entertaining fight where nobody held their punches back.

I can never say De La Hoya has ducked people, you can not look at his resume and say he has ducked fighters, why and he hell would he wanted to fight Paul Williams or Margarito last year when he was looking for a mega fight to possibly go out on retirment on. Yeah Paul Williams is a good fighter but box office his name is almost still unknown to the wide masses out there.
No, he said he will fight the winner of cotto-margarito... then suddenly when margarito wins he change his mind instead he picks up pacquiao...

Some of you are really ****en haters and don't even know it. We know the name of the 7 foot giant that everybody gets excited about when he calls out fighters out of his weight. But Marquez a fighter with a resume to back up his call outs, calls out Mayweather and people dismiss this as a joke, list Marquez is moving on and he wants Mayweather simple and genuine as it comes. So accept it or look like a clown for putting down a warrior that wants to fight the best.

I would really like to see this fight and I hope Mayweather accepts this fight two great technitions of our time going at it we alreaady had a great, fight between two great technitions in Casamayor v. Marquez, Marquez v. Mayweather would just as great if not greater. But realisticly, it wouldn't be in Mayweather best advice to drop to 140 and fight Marquez, Mayweather would look weight drained but if his fans talk like he could still make 140 then i see no reason why Mayeather shouldn't accept the fight.
