Been reading this forum for a while but never posted anything cos i cant be assed getting into ****** arguments, but just have to say cong**** to Martin Rogan.

As a guy from N.Irleand I've been starved of some local fighters at (well, near!) the top level since the Magees and Wayne Mc. got old. Great to see Rogan become the first man ever to stop Skelton and it was in the papers last week here that if he wins his next fight, I think for the European title but I'm not sure, he becomes Chagaev's mandatory.

Rogan's got a great chin and a great heart even if he does lack some finesse!

Also, u gotta love him just for beating Fraudley Harrison!

Just need to keep him the **** away from the Klits and Haye!

I don't think David Haye wants to mix it up with this guy. Very little reward for Haye and a definite chance that Rogan could take Haye into the later rounds and exhaust him.

I know Haye wont go near him. But going by the shots Skelton landed on him, and concidering Haye is faster and hits harder, it wouldn't go to the later rounds, as good as his chin is, if he didnt get KTFO then the ref would just stop it.

There's no chance whatsoever Rogan could 'take Haye into the later rounds and exhaust him'. Rogan is too easy to hit, and Haye's bombs would take him down in a few rounds; nobody has a chin that strong and Rogan is actually no heavier than Haye is. The only risk for Haye is his own chin if he got careless, or if Rogan got very lucky.

Agree to disagree. Haye has failed to knock out much lesser men in quick fashion. The myth about his Zeus like power is more an NSB legend than a tried and true fact.

I was reading Boxing News today, and apparently Skelton chose not to put his European title on the line, even though a loss means having to vacate it anyway.

Seems like a bit of a ****ish thing to do.

His power may well be overrated by some people, but the speed with which he throws those shots will overwhelm most heavyweights out there IMO. Good technical fighters with at least a decent chin will give him problems. But as far as crude fighters with not much technical ability goes, I think they'll be blown out of there in a few rounds. His speed is going to be a killer against most heavyweights.

Yeah, I wasn't really thinking about odds at the time, I just wanted to bet. I have real money on the guy too.
