It's annoying that he'd fight Adamek and not Dawson.

Yeah because Calzaghe is younger and was #1LHW. Hopkins fought way more young elite fighters in Wright,Pavlik,Taylor. SO thats why he can get somewhat a pass for taking Adamek over Dawson

One has retired, had planned his retirement for ages, and didn't feel the Dawson fight was exciting enough to him, given that Dawson is not a huge name yet, to justify postponing his retirement; while making it clear that had he continued, Dawson would have been his next fight. The other is still fighting and wants to fight a limited fighter rather than Dawson. I do think it's real double standards to criticise the former and not the latter, especially as Calzaghe made a serious effort to get a fight with Hopkins in 2002 and Hopkins didn't want to know (see my sig).

That's a very good point. But Roy had pretty much cleaned out the LHW division, and he went back down to fight Tarver.

If Hopkins went up and beat Adamek than came back down and beat Dawson, it'd be more comparable.

Hopkins is 1-1 at LHW....I think he should fight the best fighter P4P from SMW to CW, and that's Dawson(outside of Hop himself of course).

I don't think Hopkins wants the cruiser strap. He said it himself a while ago. I either want him to fight Dawson and retire on a win, or move up to heavyweight and take on Big Foot and win the WBA strap.

Exactly... He was the MAN at middleweight, beat the MAN at lightheavyweight, and Adamek is the MAN at cruiserweight. I think there would be a great gate at the fight and HBO would definitely be interested.

Hopkins would probably come in weighing very light for a Cruiserweight, I'd imagine in the 180-185 range. I'd pay to see it, especially to see Hopkins conquer his third division and get Adamek a nice payday.

I'm a big Hopkins fan but come on! The only genuine 175lb fighter he's fought was an under par Tarver. Dawson is far more of a threat than Tarver was at that time.
