They get a lotta credit cuz they were in an era without big $ contracts, cable TV, etc. And of course absence makes the heart grow fonder. Most fighters are even more respected once they're gone than when they were still around. Instead of bein the talk of the moment, over time great fighters of past eras become measurin sticks for modern guys, which of course makes em look even better. Nothin wrong wit cats given props to legends. That's one of the reasons they fought their asses off in their careers, to leave a lastin impression.

Ha ha,this is true, just because them guys fought 15 rounds aint nothing!!Just because SRR fought almost 200 fights and only lost 19 doesnt mean he was good!!Who the hell was Ali?I'd bet u 1 thing though,if Duran fought everyone floyd did,he would have retired undefeated too!!But lucky for boxing,he actually fought the best fighters on the planet!!The old school fighters will live forever in glory,U should show some respect for real fighters, man!!

Absolutely true. Lewis Lennox is a good example. When he was around, he often got slated. After he retired he started to get the credit he deserved. Nowadays he's considered by many to be a top 10 heavyweight ATG.

But that doesnt justify them to getting to much credit, Records, past greats must give way to the next generations of greats. Respect them sure but lets not pretend they are someone they aint.

                Let's make this real simple:

How do you compare Mayweather Jr. to Sugar Ray Robinson?

SRL lose this one in a mythical match up. Roy jones destroys all fighters from that era too.
