I think the suspension is more a message. If Margarito would have gotten away scott-free then how many other fighters might try to get some advantage over the compettion and come up with the excuse "I didn't know" to avoid punishment. This'll have all boxers being aware of what's going on in their locker rooms from now on.

i agree that margs shouldn't fight in mexico seeing how it may taint his chances of being reinstated. however all u cotto bologna garglers need to get over the fact that margs beat the s*#t out of him. remember cotto's trainer n commission were present for the wrapping. for the record i do believe that margs is that dumb that he had no idea of any wrong doing. all the crybabies that he beat should want to fight him to avenge their loss

It's an important message and I don't it would have mattered if it were a Mexican or not. Keep the love of boxing, but don't condone or suport this kind of thing. Perfect tme to post this statement: Cotto is over the Margarito loss. Cotto admitted he lot his legs towards the latter half of the fight, and had a horribly broken nose which was really the bulk of the damage he suffered. Please fellow Cotto fans don't dwell on the past, Cotto is a champion again and has a long future ahead of him. Bring on the competition!
