Boxing vs. MMA

This comparison has come up again now that Silvia and Mercer will fight. This does no justice for boxing or for anything for that matter since Mercer is so washed up and out of shape. Why would he even put himself through the humiliation? Besides boxing has much more class than that. For one it has been around for way longer and will continue that way. Boxers make more money, and they dont grab other dudes on the ass or in the crotch! Any fighting can be exciting but let's face it why put Mercer's old ass in there, why not Arreola or one of the Klitchko Brothers?

I thought the whole point was to grab the legs or arm or neck when you're on the ground The same thing can be said about Greco-Roman-Freestyle Wrestling and you don't hear a lot of people take about it that same way.

I really don't think it'll hurt either sport. It'll hurt Timmeh though. I think Cox is an idiot for setting this up and he needs to be fired. Besides, I don't know what Mercer's afraid of. All Timmeh does is jabs and cagehugs.

Long term...I don't got anything against getting paid so don't take this wrong. I do think the recent influx of boxers are really going to hurt amateur and semi pro fighters going pro because there's not much quality when it comes to fighting a boxer in MMA.

Has anyone heard Mercer speak lately? I'm curious to see how bad he is health wise. I mean mercer has been fighting for how long? You hear the complaints about Holyfield but this guy is even worse. mercer needs to know that its time to retire. If he needs money then someone needs to tell him that its time to get a real job.
