Definitely a good win. James Toney had beaten Iran Barkley and was undefeated unless I am mistaken. Roy juking out James Toney and then dropping him, whether he went all the way down or not, is a classic scene from 90s boxing

Roy's best win. James was unbeaten in over 40 fights, the p4p second highest rated fighter in the world and the number one guy at SMW. Toney was also favourite for the fight I believe. Although I thin James' weight problems on the night are a little overstated, it is not Roy's problem. Great win for Roy.

I agree, you can't blame Jones for that. He beat a shadow of Toney that night though whether Jones fans like to admit it or not. He was badly weight-drained.

Roys best win, and against the fighter who in terms of legacy will rank higher than any other of Jones opponents (Joe's boys, just don't! Ok?).

weightdrained? c'mon pull....he came in at like 175 on fight night...he had been doing that the few fights before the Roy showdown...and he did well in those fights

i dont buy that weight drained crap...he got schooled...plain and simple

Toney's technical brilliance was trumped by Roy's superior reflex, handspeed and athleticism

I think Toney was definately affected by the weight, but I wouldn't have called him 'drained'.

Noone who has ever fought at 168 would have beaten Roy that night. End of.
