At 140 I would favour Floyd for the KO, but not at 147. I think Cotto has the physical tools to beat Mayweather, but I don't know if his ring smarts are up to the challenge.

Floyd wont even coming close to testing Cotto's stamina. He'll try to do what he always does cover up and potshot and that will never work against Cotto. Cotto would beat him that's why this fight will never happen.

Mayweather Sr is trying to train Hatton to become a better boxer. He isn't on the same level as Floyd though is he.

bruseles is more like cotto than hatton is like floyd

        bad comparison

if hatton were slick then you could make a comparison but its like comparing apples to oranges

            but we may never know.
If Arum or Golden boy paid Floyd a good amount of money we may find out

I don't think Arum wants Cotto near Floyd, back at 140 Arum didn't put Cotto in with Floyd and i don't blame him

Why have Cotto lose when he could later on become a cash cow

also cotto aing going back to 140....

              but g...

dont u think that floyd should be stepping up his game with some good competition.. i mean. .it doesnt have to be.. cotto..

lets say... shane.. who by the way. .deserve that big payday!! more than cotto!! shane has been in the game for quiteeeeeeeeeeee some long time. .always facing the best!!

dont u think.. that floyd should step it up! and stop demanding a primetyson payday.. more with these economics..

im honest man.. i think that mayweather can beat cotto or shane.....

but until he prove it!!! hes gonna be taking the heat.. .and is justified

I think a lot of you look too much into fighter's previous fights and make it seem like they'd react exactly the same against another fighter. Styles makes fights. Floyd isn't as active a fighter as he once was in the lighter weights, he takes his time and focuses on accuracy more than volume. Plus, he wouldn't be pressuring Cotto or bringing the fight to him...so I don't see how Cotto would "fade" against Floyd.

IMO, Cotto would give Floyd the toughest fight out of all the Welters. His jab is monstrous which Floyd is very susceptible to. The thing with Cotto and a lot of people say this about him after they fight him is that he's very deceptive with the way he throws his punches. he knows how to time you and you can see that in the Mosley fight with his different faints and slipping in the straight rights.

It's just a shame these two guys haven't fought. The style match up is so intriguing. Though I think Cotto can beat Floyd, i also think the same with Floyd (and I'm a fan of Cotto's). I just don't buy the fact that Floyd goes in there and wipes the floor with Cotto, otherwise I believe Floyd would've done it already. Floyd knows Cotto still could potentially be one of his biggest fight if not THE biggest fight in the next year.

Cotto beats Mayweather because of his jab and body shots the two most important weapons to beating floyd. Cotto is too strong for floyd also.

My point was that having the same trainer teach you the same stuff doesn't make you the same fighter.

I'm not a fan of Floyd but I can't deny the mans skills. I agree though, if he doesn't come out of retirement, his legacy will be severly damaged.
