Floyd isn't a better boxer than Cotto. Mayweather is just a guy that runs around then ties you up or holds your arm to prevent the fighter from hitting him. I would probably give him or Clottey the best chance to beat Mayweather, I think I would give Clottey a bit more of a chance as he has quick hands, good power, great defense and a stunning quick left hand to both head and body. Either guy definitely has a chance at beating him and anyone saying Mayweather KO's Cotto is a wee bit off their game I think.

Cotto has a better defense than Hatton and they fight so different that I don't think it would ever even reach the stage that either guy would get very hurt. t just wouldn't be that kind of fight.

Anyone thinking that it will go the same way as the Hatton fight is daft. Cotto doesn't fight on the inside like Hatton and doesn't leave himself open on the way in, which is basically when you can KO nearly anyone. Cotto would not end up in that position. It would be a jab, move, pop, move strategy for Mayweather and it probably wouldn't deviate much the whole fight. He would fight Cotto very similar to the way he fought Baldomir.

Hatton is much shorter, has shorter arms and fights a purely inside game. Cotto doesn't at all, and Floyd is either comfortable on the inside or on the outside. He is not that comfortable as a mid-range fighter the way Cotto is, so it would be fought with him on the outside, pop and move.

I think it would end up a UD for Mayweather but Cotto has a better chance than anyone else apart from Clottey at winning.

It's funny what one loss will do to a fighters reputation these days. It's really amazingly sad actually. If Cotto loses his fight he might as well retire right?



Before the Marg fight, everyone said that Cotto had a good chance of beating him, now it's "Mayweather would KO that mofo with a check hook baby! Cotto ain't ****e!"

Anyway, I think Cotto's blend of speed and power and the way he actually uses it, not wildly like Hatton and he has better defense than most give him credit for, would make it a very hard fight for Mayweather. There is no way either guy wins this easily and neither is getting knocked out or TKO'd.

Edit: Hey Ch@mpBox@PR, Mayweather got tagged with a very solid right hook and yes, it stunned him quite badly, but he walked back to the ropes covering up to recover. He did that very quickly and nearly straight away started tagging Corley with shots off the ropes. He wasn't out on his feet though, nor was he sagging against the ropes. He just walked straight back into them covering up. Wasn't as big a deal as some make it out to be, though he was quite hurt there.

pressing your arm against the opponent's throat is illegal too

blocking the vision of your opponent while infighting is illegal too
