I think Cotto def would have a better chance at 147. 140 Floyd's even faster and u put that wit great accuracy. 147 it'd be a close fight tho. Floyd will lose some rounds due to low output prolly bcuz of those bad hands.

when exactly? what did I miss?

Maybe, by a good long fast jab, not by a good short power shot, which is Cotto's jab...
      .

LOL Corley had Cotto seriously hurt and Torres had Cotto down, shoving or not shoving, he also had him pretty much out on his feet.

      Again castillo, DLH,Judah

Cottos tiimmimg is top best in the sport and timming kill speed. Cottos jabs, is a very accurate jab.

Clottey had mayweather KOd on his feet. He hited Cotto to the temple.

You are the one who needs to choose your arguments more carefully!!!!!!!

You should choose your arguments more carefully
He doesnt oopen when he is getting hit back, Castillo, DLH, Judah early rounds!!!!!

he will be hitting cotto at will? Thats yous plain ridiculous. You talk about Cottos defense as he was Baldomir or Margarito. On order to hit Cotto he will have to pcik his shots to be accuarte, and he doesnt have 1 Punch KO power. So he is not KOing Cotto!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm a Floyd Mayweather fan and I can agree with this. Some people are not giving Cotto enough props in the skill and defense department. We all saw what Mosley did to Margarito. He looked great, fast and powerful.

And the thing is, Mosley didn't drink from the fountain of youth that night and became a better fighter then the one he was against Cotto....he was the same guy. And Cotto was counter punching vs Mosley and landing in most of the rounds. That should tell you something about Cotto's skills.

Cotto aint no Gatti or Hatton and Floyd aint landing on him all night. Forget about it Floyd **** riders.

I think Cotto would have a much better chance at 147, because of how he is different at the weight rather than how Floyd is different at the weight. Cotto at 140 had stamina and chin issues to dehydration, and he was nowhere near as refined as you need to be to beat Mayweather.

One guy makes a case for coto due to Floyd being a better fighter at 140, the other guy makes a case for Cotto due to Cotto being a better fighter at 147.

            Two different world views.

if floyd fights his usuall style, pot shot, jump on his bike, engage very little, floyd would never hurt cotto and this fight would end up a split decision like floyd vs dLh. in vegas floyd would get the sd and at the garden cotto would get the sd....

You are answeing only one point, which proves the rest of my observations are well taken.

He threw plenty against Castillo, in the 1s fight, and won the 2nd one more convincingly by throwing less... wo what's your point there?

As for Judah and Oscar, why do you think they could not keep on doing what was working for them? They both got tired? hmmm... Judah did not seem prone to that against Spinks (and never in his career as early as round 5). Oscar stopped throwing the jab... the jab? he was so badly conditioned that he could not throw a jab after 6 rounds?

Or maybe, just maybe could it have something to do with being timed countered?

Truth of the story is... when Mayweather needs to throw he throws. And he spends the first few rounds of his fights on the defensive and studying his opponent.

You can have ur opinion but Cotto is gonna have trouble landing on Floyd period. This aint Shane Mosley. And the Floyd ur speaking of is 147 I'm figuring.

they are both compatible, just that IMO the major difference is how much better Cotto looked at 147 than at 140. At 140 it would have been bad for Cotto.
