I think Hatton may be a little overrated.

Don't get me wrong, he is a very good fighter. But I just don't think that someone with his style can beat someone as skillful as Pacquiao. I felt the same way vs Mayweather Jr. Hatton is a bully in the ring and will just maul his opponents, but if he faces really tough opposition he will not win. I think all of the top boxers in WW would easily beat him, as well as some guys who aren't on the top (Collazo , Judah- who would also beat him at Jr. WW).

Yes, he is a natural Jr. Welterweight but I don't even think he's that great at that weight class. He looked like **** in his comeback fight after the Mayweather Jr. loss (was it Jesus Chavez?), and he may have beat Paulie Malinaggi, but that guy is a feather fisted *****. I knew going into that fight that Hatton was gonna bully his way to a win.

Hatton does the same thing over and over, he moves his head a little in the beginning, then he just starts lunging in with some hooks and ties the guy up. Mayweather Jr. saw this and was able to time him perfectly as he was coming in again and again with right hands, and then that beautiful check-hook. Expect for Pacman to do the same thing, although this time the punches will be faster and harder and Pac won't be running away the whole time like Floyd. Pacquaio by KO within 8.

I'm didn't start this thread to piss anyone off, it's just how I feel. I like Hatton a lot, he's actually one of my favorites, but I just don't think he's one of the best.

Every fighter is overrated by some and underrated by some. Nothin new. Hatton has a chance to win and it shouldn't be considered Buster-esque if he beats Pac. But even if he does win, no way he does it by easy demolition imo.

He's definitely the champ. I said he's good, but he's not going to beat the best out there right now. I definitely think that if he were to fight Mayweather again he would lose again. Cotto would beat him, as would anyone else. I can't see him beating Pacquiao. He just doesn't have the boxing skill to pull that off, and Pacquiao is sooo fast. I would be shocked if Mayweather Sr really changed Hatton that much so that he uses his jab and head movement for more than 4 rounds.

Collazo is one of teh top guys at 147, realisticly only Mosley and Cotto are genuinely above Collazo's level, though you could make an arguement for Clottey aswell. Hatton beat Collazo far more convincingly than Berto (the future of 147) did. Judah would struggle to beat an Egg at this point in his career and frankly i doubt he fights at the top level again.

His comeback fight was against lazcano and he won the fight 12-0/12-0/10-2. So i think he would take looking that **** against any fighter in the world.

Malinaggi is feather fisted, but he is also very skillful and more elusive than pacquiao is, hatton had no trouble finding malinaggi and he will have less trouble finding pac.

pac is not a defencive genius that PBF is, compairing the two is pointless.

PBF @147 is a mile ahead of pac @140 and Hatton is better @140 than 147.

As for him not being one of teh best, he's been ranked top 10 p4p for the last 5 years, thats one of teh best in anyone's books, just because his style isn't pretty to watch doesn't mean it's not very very effective as 4 of Castillio's ribs can tell.

For me this is a pickem fight but for one thing, the one thing you didn't mention which tells me you're not much of a student of the sport.

Hatton struggles against southpaws, if pac is smart as i know he is and doesn't get macho he wins a UD 2-3 rounds.

If he tries to brawl or stand toe to toe with hatton he removes the advantages he has and plays in hattons world where hattons natural size, strength, bigger punch power and punch resistance will mean pac is in for a long and brutal evening ending with a Hatton UD.

Tzsyu @140 is significantly better than Pac @140 and hatton for that matter, But hatton forced tzsyu to fight in HIS world and he won, if he does the same to pac, he wins, if pac stays outside and uses he southpaw advantages and his superior handspeed and timing he wins.

Good point, I forgot to add the southpaw aspect in.

And your right, I'm not a student of the sport, I just played Fight Night Round 3 a few times and I think I know everything. Never once stepped in the ring in my life or been to any fights either. Absolutely right. I should probably just delete my account.
