Cotto's Options Come Down To Clottey, Cintron, Berto

I have to jump in and pour some holy water on you for this comment... Berto is not even the man that Clottey is.. you can look and see that. Clottey will scare Berto. Berto just needs to be glad he fought Collazo before they threw him in against a top welterweight.. he will get murdered by any of the top welterweights.

why do i hear people bringin up the margarito clottey fight before margarito got washed by shane no one made seem like they thought clottey lost the fight and was gettin beat bad the 2nd half of the fight but now all of a sudden people bring up this fight to show how tough clottey is

As a Cotto fan I have to say that Cintron shouldn't even be in Cottos thoughts.
Its time for Cotto to go all in, if he were to choose Cintron that would signify to me that he lacks the confidence he once had before July 26. Out of Berto and Clottey I think he stands a better chance against Berto, I like Berto but he doesn't seem to be on the same playing field as the rest of these guys. Clottey on the other hand is probably the biggest test out there for Cotto right now followed closely by Shane. On the other hand I think Shane w/****m might be a different fighter so that would be interesting as well considering how close the first fight was. All in all I hope Cotto makes the right decision cuz if he picks Cintron I would find that to be a bit concerning and would put Cottos current mental status in question. What does Cintron even bring to the table?

Cotto vs. Clottey is the only reasonable fight in Cottos career that can bring him back to redemption.

Berto = Not experienced enough yet.

Is this even an argument? Anyone halfway knowledgeable about boxing knows that Berto is not in Clotteys league. Williams, Clottey, Cotto, Mosley maybe Cintron.. then the rest. Berto probably cant beat Quintana

clottey knows he's not in the same financial bracket as mosley and cotto, so he has to fight other guys that are in his bracket, like berto. thats why he said that.

Berto doesnt have the tools to beat Cotto, Clottey, Williams or Cintron. He's like a lightening fast 5'3 point guard playing in the NBA.. yeah he may look exciting against lesser opponents and have his moments but physically he doesnt have the tools to compete. He will get ****d by Cotto. He is straight media hype.

I think you misunderstood.. let me clarify. Clottey is a good fighter with 12 rounds against Margo and win against Judah. Berto is garbage.. nothing.. nada. Collazo actually won the fight.

No, this is nothing short of a disgrace posting something so ******ed. Are you forgetting Berto only JUST beat Collazo while Clottey was SCHOOLING Margocheta until his hand was injured. Clottey has an iron chin, great defense and very underrated speed and power. He's also a big guy - coming into the ring at 160-175.

Berto is too green, Cotto will hurt him Vargas - Trinidad style.

I hear you because it will look more impressive to the main stream market being that Andre Berto is an undefeated fighter. I can see that being a reason for Cotto to go for him especially since he has a title to go along with the "0" but I think a fight with Clottey would prove a lot to everyone as a whole because Clottey is a technical tough fighter that lasted 12 with Margarito and if Cotto could pull it off then it would show even more how durable and worthy he is of respect at 147.

Berto would be a good fight and win for him but to me being a fan of boxing and seeing the best fights it would be too predictable for me to get excited about it. Remember also if he demolishes Berto then people will say that he took the easy fight again. Cotto would build his marketability up way more in the long run. Mosley/Berto to me would be more exciting and a good test for Berto. Not saying Cotto won't be but Cotto should continue to beat the Experienced Elite's. Mosley would be a good test for Berto. But I'm sure at this rate everyone will face each other at some point but Cotto should go for Clottey next.
